supervoxel-for-3d-point-clouds's Issues

question

I want to modify your code and use it in my method. Your method is fixed resolution now, and I want to make it multi-resolution. I don't know how to start, and I hope you can give me some guidance

Add a software license to the repository

The "About" section mentions that the code is license free. I assume that your intent with this statement is to make this peice of software available and usable freely for others. Unfortunately, the absence of a license makes it legally unusable in most jurisdictions, as copyright law is reserving all rights to the author.

If your intent was to make it freely available, please consider adding a permissive license e.g. MIT License or if you want to be as open as possible e.g. the Unlicense

Evaluation code

Hi Lin,

Thanks for your excellent work. I did not find the code of evaluation in your repo. Could you share it?

Code problems

Hello Teacher Lin,I am a student of Teacher Dilong Li. I have cloned your code into visual sudio but cannot compile it. May I ask what compilation environment your code should run in

extreme long running time

@yblin Thank you for the great work and I am trying to use it for my dataset. It only has 256958 points but now has been already running for 74 hours and no results have been generated yet. Could you let me know which parameter(s) I can adjust to make it run in a reasonable timeframe? Thanks.

Meshes vs Point Cloud

Hi i am new to 3d computer vision and I have a small query

Can you provide an explanation of the relationship between meshes and point clouds, specifically in terms of their generation and utilization? Additionally, how can we differentiate between the use cases where point clouds are preferred over meshes, and vice versa, in various applications? Finally, is it possible to convert a texture-mapped mesh to a coloured point cloud by converting texture coordinates to vertices?
