This would be extremely helpful.
But I think you need to convert to something like ".obj" or ".fbx" first. And then import to blender.
Very excited to play with this Add-on, but when I try to install per instructions, it nothing seems to happen. I've installed plugins before, so I'm not sure if it is user error on my end.
found bundled python: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 2.91\2.91\python Modules Installed () from 'C:\\Users\\wrios\\Documents\\GitHub\\blender-artnet\\__init__.py' into 'C:\\Users\\wrios\\AppData\\Roaming\\Blender Foundation\\Blender\\2.91\\scripts\\addons'

Implement ArtTimeCode timecode output for controlling timecode shows in rendertime (https://art-
net.org.uk/structure/time-keeping-triggering/arttimecode/)
Of course if using Evee, render time is real time
Probally beacause the add_on modify the "delta trasform" rather than "transform" the auto keying isn't possible. You think that there is a possibility to fix this issue? It is very very essential for render animation with pan tilt movement synced with LTC.
When i close the project and after that i re-open the same project, i have to uncheck and recheck the flag on the ArtNet addon and only after that it starts to work again
is it possible to block the refresh of a value that you don't want to be changed?
for example when I have the moving heads in a horizontal position I need to turn the spots on the Z axis to align with the scene on the blender when they are in "locate" mode 127 tilt and 127 pan then with the beam perfectly straight, but when I send again with artnet it resets returning to the zero set by the script and the locate loses its setting.
How can I fix this little problem?
Great initiative!
I got this going with an MA onPC yesterday, but today it seems like it won't connect for some reason. I can imagine this being due to multiple ethernet interfaces on the computer. Would it be possible to list the interface currently being used by Blender somwhere?
I also had some issues seemingly related to scaling values yesterday, but I'll make a pull request once I figure that bit out.

Implement fixture definitions based on the GDTF format (https://gdtf-share.com/wiki/Main_Page)
Requires 3DS import support for importing models which is not implemented yet in Blender 2.83
Possibly requires translator from 3DS format to Blender format
I was just as excited to use this plugin as everybody else who discovered it and realized what it could do. So I downloaded the latest version of Blender (2.93.5) and the add-on installation worked just fine.
After a couple of hours of messing around, I just can't seem to get this thing to react to ArtNet. Afaik I did everything according to the readme. The point of this issue is there are no facilities to troubleshoot with. If only the add-on could tell me it actually received a valid artnet packet and show the DMX values.
Which platforms is this supported/tested on? Does it work with the loopback interface 127.0.0.1? What are recommended troubleshooting procedures?
Thanks
installation in Blender version higher than 2.80 is not possible.
I tried first with the latest version of Blender and then with the version you suggest.
With the suggested version the addon works correctly but with the new version of Blender I think there are some bugs. How can I help you solve this problem?

Implement assignment of any incoming Art-Net values to any numeric input
Would require a value mapping menu/window with conversion from int8 to any number scale.
Preferably with coarse/fine/ultra-fine combination of incoming channels to generate int16 & int 32.
@hesse2 - need explanation here of what you mean by "numeric input" and a user story of how you see it being used.
There is an issue when starting blender with activated addon:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "<Userdir>\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.4\scripts\addons\blender-artnet-master\__init__.py", line 98, in _on_file_loaded synchroniser.register() AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'register'
Any Ideas of how to fix this?
