Since #9 it's been pushed back to upstream. I updated the description but it would probably make sense to archive this project.

Upstream to ros-perception repo

We're testing this node with SLAM and Navigation, and would like to know if it will be upstreamed to the ros-perception repo or stay as a fork here indefinitely.
