Bugs related to trading

market contents are available when travelling to camps without markets.

entire market contents dissapear when you add to many items to the buy list. Cancelling out afterwards and opening the market brings up a black overlay with nothing.

reloading the game removes travellers.

outgoing caravans may sell nothing at all.

Raids steal a lot more resources than they claim too. The description will say something like "Raid over. We lost 24 metal", but my stockpile of metal will decrease by a few hundred.

Feature request: Finding the "Map"

Early in the game, I remember being told that I found a map. I thought: Cool, now I'll be able to see what the whole level looks like, or at least part of it! But the map somehow showed exactly the area I had already explored, and expanded as I explored more areas.

I guess what I found wasn't actually a map at all, it was a blank piece of paper, on which the player character draws their own map.

Maybe, instead of "finding" a map, you can change the way this works... the player crafts a map. Perhaps it's the first project, costing one or two rumors, or maybe it's even a free project that unlocks after exploring a certain number of squares.

Or perhaps, the map that the player finds could actually be a map, not only unlocking the "Map" tab but also revealing the locations (but not the contents) of all rooms in a 5x5 area. They'd be added to the player map in gray, like any other unexplored rooms. Maps could be objects the player finds from time to time, not just once. They might be found (after the first one) not when scavenging or scouting, but only when doing something special like when exploring sewers or fighting gangs.

(Later, some maps might even have "secret" rooms that aren't discoverable or visitable until the player learns about them from a nearby map! On later levels, these secret rooms might be the only place to find things like unlimited water sources. They might even be the best camp locations! Or, they might simply offer a shortcut between two parts of the map that don't otherwise have a short path between them.)

Building Projects on wrong level

Not sure if this is correct behavior or not, but I'm able to build the level 12 down stairs on level 13's camp with level 13's metal. This makes it significantly easier since I can use the production infrastructure on level 13 instead of level 12.

Reloading hides button cooldown

reloading the game makes the rest button able to be clicked even while on cooldown but does nothing until the actual cooldown is over.

World Seed 3506 Impossible

Not sure if there's some kind of tag for impossible world issues at this point.

Note: if you're trying to report an impossible seed issue, and you don't know how to find your world seed, run this snippet in the console (just the first line, without the >):

Characteristics:

  • Level 13 is unremarkable. One upward staircase, one downward staircase.
  • Level 12 is unremarkable, but has two downward staircases.
  • Level 11's camp is in bright light. One downward staircase, two upward staircases.
  • Level 10 has no camp. One downward staircase, one upward staircase.
  • Level 9 has no accessible camp (?). One upward staircase. Map reports "there are many unexplored streets".

It might help tide things over to Beta if the World Generator actually simulates walking the world without thirst/hunger/stamina just to prove that you can theoretically reach everything.

Switching gear

Either it is hidden or it is impossible to switch gear. I discovered sunglasses before a wollen hat and can't work out how to switch.

Impossible to progress to Level 8

So, this is something I've seen a people talking about and I finally took the time to dig into it. Once I realized that the probability space was only 10,000 seeds big, I just threw cycles at it.

Of the 10,000 possible campable level arrangements, exactly 0 of them have 5 camps before ordinal level 6. Unfortunately, since you don't get upgrade_building_storage1 until ordinal level 7, there's no way to get tribe storage past 3,000 metal. Reference 1, Reference 2

I've seen this personally, too. In case you're curious, these are the possible layouts from ordinal 1 on the left to ordinal 20 on the right, with a space meaning that level isn't campable:

Partially collect from buckets and traps

It would be very useful to be able to select how much you want to collect from buckets and traps as you need stuff from both. I find myself scavenging to drop stuff.

Try/catch error in UIOutElementsSystem.updateButtonContainer

So, I've been looking through the codebase and I found this tidbit.. I just wanted to let you know that the reason it throws errors is because this is actually an instance of UIOutElementsSystem, not any sort of element. So when it gets passed to jQuery, it just sort of breaks. I would've submitted a PR to fix it, but I couldn't actually tell what you were trying to do with this line.

Invalid route back to camp

It looks like the game will let you automatically go back to camp via routes that don't exist as long as you are close enough as the crow flies to the camp.

Blocked in by cold areas and don't have enough evidence to unlock wollen hat and mittens

I have fully explored the map that I have available and in each direction I hit a cold area blocking the path. Looking at the sample maps, I don't think this is normal.

I tried scavenging for armor and stuff, but it seems pretty hopeless.

Also I'm pretty sure that is an upgrade to help but currently I am at 450 max storage with a requirement of 525 metal for the next storage upgrade

I got hurt but also not.

With the help of the level13 subreddit I made it to level 8 where I lost to a giant spider (harmless btw) It said I got injured but lost no items. I arrived in camp without any injuries or penalty to max stamina.

Bad world seed: 1353

Like other issue reports on bad world seeds, I seem to be stuck. I've explored all tiles (not a lot) on level 11, and no appearant way to progress - and I have the "still many unvisited streets" message. Is a reset my only option?

Can't assign workers

Trying to assign workers sometimes the cursor doesn't change. unassigning then re-assigning sometimes fixes it.

Bug: Path up on the level 13, but cannot build stairs there.

I got both path up and down on one of the maps I started in. Sadly it does not allow me to complete the project for the way up area (stairs down works normally). It could possibly be cool to have something upwards too, like maybe a brightly lit layer without any camping locations called the rooftops or something. It could have some potential to shape up the world a bit more.

Loot screen continue button issue

Occasionally while fighting a monster and looting it, on the second loot screen the continue button will sometimes do nothing.

Occasionally clicking an arrow will cause no feedback. Number does not increase or decrease. Reload is necessary.

Various buttons stop working (probably well known) sometimes happens during enemy fights too when getting loot from enemies.

market contents are available when travelling to camps without markets.

You can travel to other camps while resting/sitting down/getting treatment.

rescuing people from sewers can get people over the camp limit.

getting an enemy from gathering water at a tower almost always disables the button

many icons go missing when disabling internet during play.

Camps often give notifications (!) even after visiting the camp and moving away.

projects tab in level 13 had a notification (!) but only gave the option to build something after walking through the entire map

zone 11 had no spots to build a camp but did have a spot with natural food, water and no enemies.

Let me also say other than the many issues present. I think this is an amazing game, I'm currently having lots of fun slowly making my way through level 9

Build Collection

Currently, you can only collect up till how much space you have in your backpack or water/food you have available to be collected. This, in turn, forces you to take a full amount of one thing, scavenge and then ditch the surplus to make room for another, effectively losing out on potentially a lot of resources.

A fix to this could perhaps be to add a button to take "1", "5", "10" or "max/all".

Tiny map generation

A suggestion to solve this would be checking after the map generation how many tiles it has and if it isn't enough it resets and tries again.

rope makers available without research needed

Up stairs on level 13

I have a set of stairs going up on level 13. The project to repair them doesn't seem to appear. It should probably either work or it shouldn't be visible.

Movement directions incorrect after restart

I started a game, got to the point where I could see movement directions. Then I restarted. When I got to the point where I could move again, the active direction buttons corresponded to the previous map, not the current one. Reloading the page fixed this. This happened several times for me.

pressing enter during scavenging brings up another bugged menu which you can't close other than reloading the game. this softlocking you. This might be present with other windows as well

Possible to move to invalid direction (Old title: bad world seed: 949)

Playing version 0.2.1 (alpha) and was able to wander off of the map and get stuck. On reload, I get dozens of console messages like this:

At some point I was on my home square and the map allowed me to travel NW, even though there is no exit in that direction.

World seed 4409 impossible to progress

Playing v0.21, I have completely explored both world 13 and world 12, explored all sewers available. There is cell where I can go up in world 13, no down cell in world 12, but I have no blueprints and no way to get new blueprints. Only thing I can do is buy more buildings, wait until my resources are refilled and build even more buildings, or explore the worlds again. But there doesn't seem to be any way to progress to new worlds.

Bag selection resets between tabs

Add import/export

I'm not sure how you're wanting to approach import and export, but it'd probably be useful sooner than later to help debug issues. I know one of my runs my L12 entrance was physically disconnected from the remainder of the floor preventing me from progressing at all. It seems like the map generation might need some prodding.
