nao_meshes's Introduction

This package allows you to install the Aldebaran NAO meshes.
In devel space, you have to type:

   make nao_meshes_meshes

When building a binary package, please make sure that with the installer the user has to agree to
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License
that is given in the LICENSE file: this is the only requirement from Aldebaran.

Justification: in French law, only clicking/entering text is recognized as a virtual signature;
the LICENSE file is therefore not sufficient. Aldebaran allows you to redistribute those
meshes as long as they are given through an installer that asks the user to click/enter "ok/yes".

Also, the history of that repo will be frequently re-written ! we don't want to keep the old history
of the meshes as this could result in heavy cloning.

nao_meshes's Issues

Provide a mesh installer for arm64 architecture

I'm planning to use a Nvidia Jetson TX1 board as a ROS hub for the Nao, and I'd love to install the meshes there. Unfortenately, the meshs installer are only available for x86 architecture.

Would it be possible to provide an installer for arm/arm64 (or an alternative, manual installation procedure)?

[Noetic] nao_meshes fails to build on arm64 and armhf

Hey @mbusy,

It looks like nao_meshes isn't building on some platforms:

I'm planning to add all chronically failing packages to per-platform blacklists later this week.
That just means the buildfarm won't try to build them every day.

When all issues causing the build failures are resolved, please make a PR to the production branch on ros_buildfarm_config removing it from the package_blacklist:

Meshes folder not installed properly

7099d60 did not fix the issue of folder structure. Only the meshes files are copied directly under 'nao_meshes' folder. The folders 'meshes' and 'textures' are not installed. Thus the path of the meshes doesn't match the references in the URDF.
Same issue applies to pepper_meshes.
