ParseManager.getParserInstance should resolve IndexDirectory symlinks about cliff-annotator HOT 3 CLOSED

That's odd - we symlink it on OSX and Ubuntu without issue. What OS are you on? I'm surprised to hear it isn't resolving the symlink for you!

For instance, my local OSX machine:

rbots-mbp-2:~ rahulb$ ls -la /etc/cliff/IndexDirectory
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  79 Jan  7 02:05 /etc/cliff/IndexDirectory -> /Users/rahulb/Documents/c4fcm/media-meter/geocoding/IndexDirectory-CLAVIN-1.0.0

Could it be some other issue, like permissions? Can you share the error log?

I must admit on reflection it works on my local machine but it doesn't work on our production machine!

The production machine is running wheezy (with a backported kernel from jessie) and I run sid locally so it could be related to the different versions but it does seem unlikely that there is such a change in behaviour between versions.

There is one obvious difference between my dev machine and prod: prod has only one volume which is running btrfs but on my dev machine / is xfs and the target is btrfs. I have no idea if this has anything to do with it but I should be able to test it fairly easily.
