cv-tool's Introduction

Hi!

I'm on the academic and industry robotics research job market! If you have an open position you think I'd be a good fit for, get it touch!

I am a roboticist with a PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Kavraki Lab at Rice University. I work with Professor Lydia Kavraki on combining symbolic and geometric planning. Specifically, Iā€™m interested in improving the efficiency, robustness, and utility of robot task and motion planning (TMP), with a particular focus on making TMP under uncertainty practically useful.

Though I primarily research robot planning, Iā€™m also interested in ML and formal methods for robotics, robotics research broadly, and programming languages.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, playing/composing music, and writing open-source software (often in the form of plugins for Neovim).

You can contact me through the information listed on my website.

cv-tool's Issues

Test everything

Several key pieces of functionality (i.e. various input formats) haven't been tested. This should be done.

Add Unicode support

This should just require specifying a font differently, I think. Either way, right now unicode characters (a) require specification of xelatex to render (which is fine) and (b) render as empty characters. Ideally this would not happen. Pandoc should be able to handle this, though - maybe look at the default Pandoc LaTeX template and see how it works for fonts.

Add Bibtex Support

Publications and presentations should be able to be automatically extracted from Bibtex files. This will make updating/making a CV much easier. Add this.

Make templates for non-PDF/LaTeX output

We're in need of nice templates for everything but LaTeX output. This shouldn't be hard to do - mostly a matter of copying the Pandoc template language bits over from default.tex and putting things in the correct language (plus maybe adding some CSS for the HTML output).
