in the next major release i am rewriting the database hooks to use sqlalchemy, and thusly the ability to use sqlite as a database option (This will be the default configuration) thus one should be able to commit the database file to github, or anywhere in general and use it as a portable solution.

It would be nice to integrate the feature directly or via an addon module

Also to be considered as a plugin feature. Currently hosting ~2250 has my sqlite db file at 320Mb. May need to look for a better solution then my recommendation above. Although for those with large file support it should work.
