Hjerl Hede Banner

This module adds buildings of the Hjerl Hede outdoor museum in Denmark as Structure Templates. A (hopefully up-to-date) list of the included buildings can be found below. This module also defines culture, districts and building properties for the DynamicCities mechanism that allows to automatically spawn cities with HjerlHede buildings in-game.

How to contribute

Check out the open issues for buildings that are still missing and references on how they look. Please comment on the issue if you decide to work on it and link your PR as soon as it's available.

Add building "Tørveælteværk"

One of the missing agricultural farm buildings in our Hjerl Hede line-up is the moss farm "Tørveælteværk".

Add building "Kvostedgården" (moorland farm)

One of the missing agricultural buildings of our Hjerl Hede line-up is the 1813 moorland farm "Kvostedgården".

Please note that the two buildings' walls were not in the red brick style that can be seen in most parts of the reference, but rather the white-grey rough-stone style that can be seen in two parts in the centre of the reference.

Alternatively to the rough-stone variants, Timber Frame could be used or a new version of it with rough-stone instead of plain white.

Add building "Kroen" (inn)

Our current Hjerl Hede line-up is missing an inn, so this issue is about adding the 1750 "Kroen" building.

Please note that the inn consists of two buildings:

  1. The large orange one that is the main inn including
    • a hawker shop selling coffee, tobacco, salt and spirits
    • the bar room
    • kitchen, pantry and utility room
    • innkeeper's bed and living room
    • small beer cellar
  2. The smaller L-shaped white one that is a stable and hen house with the part towards the main inn being a sleeping quarter area

The well between the two buildings can also be extracted additionally as a separate structure that can be spawned.

Improvements to the two buildings from PR #1

First two buildings came in and are looking good, see #1 for details :-)

For those two there are some possible improvements:

  • Align the placement block in the ST better so you don't end up placing the house on top of yourself
  • Add a second floor in the taller building - can be a little creative with how to get up there (stairs or maybe a ladder - we do have those somewhere) even if it isn't indicated in the photos. Could also heighten the building by one more block if that doesn't end up looking silly, but in all honesty these old houses were cramped so maybe it would actually be ideal to keep current size with a second floor
  • Find a way to make the doors work. I think we have found a fix or at least discussed it, somewhere ... some of the more ST-aware mentors might remember
  • Add a functional single-block door/window cover. Might actually be easier to get working as the problem with the door IIRC relates to it being a multiblock
  • Consider adding floors, even if they might just be dirt blocks (instead of just adopting whatever like sand or grass)
  • Use filled air blocks to overwrite spawns of stuff like tall grass that ends up inside

Add building "Præstegården" (rectory)

One of the missing clerical buildings for our Hjerl Hede line-up is the 1661 rectory "Præstegården".

For the longer one of the two buildings, a plain red stone block is required, that (at this point in time is not present and hence) needs to be created.
