two-finger-scroll's Issues

TwoFingerScroll does not start with windows

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Reboot PC, Start PC --> no twofingerscroll

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The program should start and I should see a tray icon. Instead it does not.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version, 1.0.6. On a Lenovo s10 with Windows 7 (build 7057)

It used to work perfectly, ie., program started after reboot. I had to
install the Realtek drivers for audio to enable microphone, after that
installation, TwoFingerScroll no longer started with windows. The checkbox
is checked! Is there another way to start the program automatically with
windows?

one 3-finger tap registering twice on Samsung NC10

I have the app set so a three finger tap works as the middle mouse button
so I can load links in new tabs in firefox. Often tapping causes the tab to
open twice.

Would it be possible to add a delay of say 200ms on repeated 3-finger taps?

I'm using a samsung nc10 with synaptic v11.1.3.2 on windows xp home.

You guys are amazing!

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you making this code
available. I have been searching for months for a way to get two-finger
scrolling onto my HP DV6000 ever since I used my friend's MacBook Air and
discovered how functional/convenient it was. I came to the conclusion
that unless I bought a Mac or installed Linux (I have Win XP Pro SP3),
that I would never be able to take advantage of this great feature. Thank
you so much for enabling us Windows users to use this as well! I can't
tell you the sheer joy I felt when it actually worked! However, it did
not work when I first attempted to install it. For the benefit of other
people who might be having issues with this, the trick is that you have to
install the latest Synaptics driver before two-finger scroll will work.
These drivers cannot be found on Synaptics website, but can be found here
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15103 . After I
installed the driver for my system, scrolling started working
immediately! Thank you so much again!

Can you add 3 finger swipe to go back and forward?

Hi,

I know you have added the feature of going back and forward using a corner
of the track pad but I was wondering if it is possible to have a feature
where you swipe with 3 fingers to the left or to the right to go backwards
and forward on webpages etc.

Many Thanks

Possiblity to run independent of synaptics drivers.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Not an issue, but if you try to run two-finger-scroll without the synaptics
drivers loaded (SynTPEnh.exe) you get an error about "No Synaptics
Device Found". But once two-finger scrolling in started you can kill
SynTPEnh.exe and two-finger-scrolling will still function 100%.

So my question, or feature request, is why not allow the application to
run independent of the Synaptics drivers? Seeing as I don't use any of
the features provided in the Synaptics drivers, it would free up about 5k
of memory usage, which seems to be the same amount the
TwoFingerScroll process takes.

Aspire ONE has trouble differentiating two finger click and two finger drag

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Aspire ONE factory config
2. default sensitivity on "two-finger-scroll"
3. default settings on Synaptics drivers
4. Synaptics pinch, momentum, and scrolling turned off
5. Two Finger Click = Right Click
6. Two Finger Scroll = Smart

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When using the trackpad, two-finger-scroll has trouble knowing the
difference between a two-finger click and a two-finger. It will either
think a scroll is a right click or when I lift my fingers after the scroll
it will think its a right click. I have tried adjusting the sensitivity in
the synaptics driver but no luck.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V 1.0.5 on XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.

Add a Second Line of Support for 1f ALPS and Syn Trackpads

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Having a Synaptics pad that only registers one f
2. Having an ALPS trackpad

Please provide any additional information below.

I wouldn't suggest this, but the OSX86 community has already implemented a
driver called VoodooPS2 that will register two fingers and allow two finger
scrolling if the trackpad supports it.

For either ALPS or Synaptics, however, it uses a combination of "z"
pressure and "w" width to emulate a two-finger press. Either of these
measures alone will not accurately emulate a two-finger scroll. However,
when w>9 and z>80, the user is almost surely attempting a two-finger
scroll.

thank you!

works on Acer Aspire 3680 on Vista 32bits.

It worked perfectly after installing the synaptic drivers downloaded from
Acer Support website.

However ran into some trouble with my firewall outpost pro which prevented
the two finger scrolling to work, even though a rule has been created to
allow it.

Only works with the "stock" vista firewall.

Thank you so much to the developers.

cheers from the UK

One + One Tapping

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make one finger + one finger tapping emulate a middle click.
2. Place one finger on the touchpad, then tap with the other to make a
middle click.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It works, but sometimes the cursor jumps to the location of the 2nd finger.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows Server 2008 SP2, 2-finger-scroll 1.0.5, Synaptics (Toshiba) 9.1.0

Please provide any additional information below.

T61P (does not work), T43 (works great!)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed Synaptics driver (12.2.11.0) + two-finger-scroll on the T61P
2. Restarted the computer
3. Launched 2 finger scroll application
[Repeated with official drivers downloaded from the Synaptics site and
followed same procedure]

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see the two finger scroll work. Instead, the message which
states that the support has been enabled on the system... restart system...
On restart, the same message appears.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2 finger scroll 1.0.6.
OS = XP Professional 32bit
Synaptics - 12.2.11, 10.1.8 and quite a few others.

Please provide any additional information below.

Now the whole Synaptics + 2 finger scroll combo works perfectly fine on my
T43 - very satisfied with the functioning. So I can quite understand what
is the required behavior after installation.

When everything failed on the T61p, naive of me but I did try to export the
registry entries relevant to the touchpad (synaptics, 2 finger scroll) and
imported it after deleting the equivalents in the T61p - still no luck.

All drivers were removed before attempting to reinstall the different
versions of the synaptics drivers prior to trying out the 2 finger scroll.

Any help would be most appreciated.

1. Assign actions to both the 2-finger tap and 3-finger tap (e.g. RMB, MMB)
2. Perform the 3-finger tap.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

events will fire (e.g. RMB + MMB pressed)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
