linux kernel module

ever thought about adding a linux kernel module for reading/controlling the fans? I am kind of annoyed, that my fans are noticable even below 45°C and it would be nice to have greater control over them

changing parameters of auto mode

This is something which interessted me for quite some time now, but never got time to look into it.

Do you think it is possible to adjust the parameters which are used by the EC to calculate the fan speed? I am more annoyed by the fact, that the EC turns on the fans quite fast with no reason (silent fans at 60°C would be no problem at all, because the CPU will get to 99°C under full load anyway).

It would be nice to be able to modify this instead of setting some values yourself, even an userspace/kernel daemon would be troublesome in case of kernel crashes or something.
