The Spanshot 12w30d (or e?) implements rotated logs, too (like Bunyan). Kind of a converter between the new Minecraft version and Bunyan would be nice.

Add items, etc to facilitate building houses in tall trees.

I want the new color of wood available in stairs, slabs, fences, and fence gates. Maybe doors, but that's probably hard :-).

Mojang is giving us stairs and slabs, so you have something to extend.
Fences/gates/doors you'd be ahead of the company.

Add all permutations of recipes such that custom planks can be used in vanilla recipes alongside vanilla planks.

I love love love seeing mods that have every little twist and turn configurable. Maybe someone loves the new logs in your mod and the turnable logs, but dislikes the quarter-log type setup? Or maybe they dislike the newlogs, but like the turnable logs? If you made options in the config for everything like this, you could suite all thsoe finicky users. Give them a true/false for: 1. New Log Types (acacia, redwood, etc), 2. New Quarter Logs (if this is false, just generate the trees normally, but with vanilla jungle-esqu logs rather than your new logs), 3. Turnable Logs (the entire tool/interaction usage), 4. Anything added in the Future.

Register LogTurner tool in the ore dictionary. (Allows use in third party mod recipes.)

Not sure if there is a specific reason they got left as-is, but if we get huge redwood, oak, and fir logs, why not a quarter jungle tree? After all, they are the only vanilla tree that can grow 2x2, and it would give non-ExtraBiomesXL users another reason to download.

Logs could be ground up to make pulp, and then be pressed and dried for an alternative source of paper.

Long requested feature on the MCForum, a few mods do it but destroy crafting recipes for mods what use vanilla logs. (Some even forget to make the logs create Charcoal in a furnace, and destroy mods what require a vanilla log's ID to create items)

Placeable Rotated logs depending on position of the player which doesn't replace every log of a tree when regenerated in the world, only to destroy every tree in the world when the mod is removed.

As far as I've tested, normal thickness logs can be picked up fine with the enchantment in whatever rotated state they are in.

Quarter logs can get a bit funny depending on how they are rotated: some rotations drop the quarter logs as a different block, whereas some drop the correct block.

In addition to the issue (that i think you fixed) of colored planks giving the wrong number of stairs, they can not be used in conjunction with default planks to make a staircase. not sure if fixed in the update or not, but ya.

Manifests as a bug because Extrabiomes saplings (which grow our trees) are Forestry enabled.

It seems a bit excessive. on one large fir tree i get over a stack and the tree still hasn't fully decomposed.

In a mod called "Bunyan" that centers around wood and its uses, should saplings have more uses? Please offer your comments and suggestions.

When looking at a recipe that includes planks in NEI, there are just so many recipes, and it clutters it up pretty bad. If it's possible, it would be good to hide al of the cross-plank-type recipes.

Also, it seems that there may be duplicate recipes. The easiest place to see this is by looking at all the recipes for the Fence Gate in NEI.

The 'crumbling' animation overlay isn't played, instead, the log turns a pinky colour.

Rotated quarter logs however. have other blocks such as the trapdoor and the stone bricks textures overlayed onto their sides.
