Hi, Matlab uses full as the shape of the convolution - there is no option to change this. I propose that the default value of method be changed to full as well

You take into account zero division but there is still a warning so you could deactivate it like so :
with np.errstate(divide='ignore',invalid='ignore'): out = out / np.sqrt(image * template)
