Hello!
Thank you for providing such a handy way to create a reproducible thesis template.
I was trying to produce my thesis using this thesis temple, and facing some difficulty placing the table of content in the right place. I want to place it after the abstract. I looked into your detailed .cls file and tried to figure it out. However, was not able to find my path. Can you guide me here?
The final pdf fails to compile when upgrading latexmk (12 Dec. 2017, version: 4.54c) and biber (2.9) to the latest version. And the pandoc argument also seems out-of-date.
/Applications/RStudio.app/Contents/MacOS/pandoc/pandoc +RTS -K512m -RTS thesis.utf8.md --to latex --from markdown+autolink_bare_uris+ascii_identifiers+tex_math_single_backslash --output thesis.tex --table-of-contents --toc-depth 2 --template monashthesis.tex --number-sections --highlight-style tango --latex-engine pdflatex --biblatex --chapters --variable tables=yes --standalone
output file: thesis.knit.md
[pandoc warning] --chapters is deprecated. Use --top-level-division=chapter instead.

I have a long title for my thesis. I rendered to a pdf but got too much vertical spaces. As an example, here is how it looks on my PDF:
The hydraulics of open channel flow:
an introduction: basic principles, sediment motion,
hydraulic modelling, design of
hydraulic structures
However, I want something like:
The hydraulics of open channel flow: an introduction: basic principles,
sediment motion, hydraulic modelling, design of hydraulic structures
Is there any way I can reduce the vertical lines?
Thanks for making this pkg available, Rob!
I get an error when I "build book" in RStudio - this is probably something to do with my machine, but perhaps you have an idea of what I could change to fix this?
