Possible Alternate to "Name of Person"

I saw in the index.html file that the format is Name of Person & a link and was wondering if an online moniker can be used instead of my name? It's not a big issue, but could be a nice alternate.

Game screenshots and descriptions

Personally, I think there should be some screenshots of the games and a short description of each. We do not really know much about the visitors, such as whether or not they have a disability, slow internet, a slow computer, or perhaps they're on a mobile device.

Sometimes it can be difficult to constantly click through a bunch of links. Sometimes a person's disability means they can't click through a bunch of links.

It is also common courtesy to provide, at the very least, a short description of each game. This helps visitors make a decision on which games to look at further. Screenshots are desirable for at least a couple reasons I can think of right now: allows a potential player to see the visual aesthetic of a game so they can make a decision based on that (yea, some people are shallow like that), and it allows people with visual disabilities to see if they would be able to play the game (colorblindness, high contrast).

As for the layout, I think we should borrow a page from Steam. In bold letters at the top of each entry, the name of the game. Below that, a screenshot and the description, side-by-side. Obviously we need links to the games and creators. For this, I think the link to the game itself should be first, followed by links to the company (if applicable) and then links to the creators. I'm not sure what the best layout for these links is (horizontal or vertical) but they should definitely be included. Keep in mind this layout is only a suggestion, we can work on it further.

Developers != Programmers

First of all, I appreciate Catt Small even more for finally making me reset my GitHub password after 2 whole years, I only signed in once!

While browsing the site I noticed that there was no apparent distinction between Programmer and Developer. I briefly took the issue to Ms.Small via Twitter and was directed to restate my case here. While her initial point was sound, being that developers == programmers, I'll have to disagree.

The term development directly correlates to the overall process of development. So an artist creating art is developing assets for a game, in development. They would therefore also be considered a developer by definition. This obfuscation does a disservice to those who consider themselves strictly programmers, especially considering the distinction has been made elsewhere on the list. I'm requesting that a separate category be made to distinguish Programmers from the loosely based term "developer".

Thanks,

Addition Request.

Hey, call it narcissism, but I'll call it pride. Can I put myself on here? I'm a black game dev working at indie game company En House Studios on our current project, GLITCHED. Information about our company and game can be found here on our Kickstarter page https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/enhousestudios/glitched/description (the campaign was over several months ago we received nearly 1000% of our funding goal.) I personally work on game design, character and world design, dialogue and story, as well as writing and producing the music.

My name is Justin Hilton
I am 22 years old. I live in Chicago, Illinois and as far as I'm concerned I am a black game dev.

Scope?

Hey guys -- thanks, first off, for all these awesome links! Looking forward to getting some awesome games!

One question is about the scope. Is this only computer games, or are you also taking pen/paper game developers?

Add location?

We should discuss whether or not to include location.

Carrill Munnings (add to list)

Hello,

I found this tag on Twitter and I wanted to add myself to this list. My name is Carrill Munnings and I'm a black game developer who's also a trans woman. I made a game called Perdition and I'm currently working on a follow-up project called Trinity. I'm really looking to get more followers so that I'll have a larger network and so that I'll one day be able to support myself as a full-time indie game developer.

Entry Change Request

Firstly thank you for adding me to this list...I didn't know it existed until two weeks ago. I only want to request that the website that is currently linked to my entry to be changed to www.AsentrixStudios.com

I would fork and fix myself, but I don't have time and don't want to forget. However if I do it, I'll notate that on this issue.
