The emoticon popup requires improvements
An important improvement is to close the emoticon popup when clicking or tapping outside of it in case the user accidentally opens it.

Quoting a particular message in Spixi
Add a Quote Message option, either using the popup menu or by swiping left/right.
The quoted message should also have a different styling to make it clear that it is a quoted message.

Add check for updates functionality, displaying that a new version is available in the same warning bar as "Connecting to Ixian network".

Great work on this app!! I really appreciate the language change method. It’s fast and smooth and easy.

I live in an area where Google services are not common on many android devices. The problem is: on an android phone, if the Spixi app is not open in the background it will not receive notification that a message has been received.

is it possible to support an alternate notification method so even phones without Google services can receive notifications and get the full benefit from this potentially great messaging tool?

Signal has its own notification system that works seamlessly on these android devices. As signal is open source, is there any way to implement the alternative notification system they use into the android version of spixi?

Would it be possible to have a version for linux?

The User Info popup is missing a Tip User option.
Add Tip User option in the User Info popup, in addition to Send Contact Request and User Address options.

Users can select text outside messages, including avatars, likes and timestamps
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open a chat page with multiple messages
2. Select text from a message and continue selecting outside the message itself

Expected behavior
Text selection should be limited to the message itself.

Can You add Chinese language and Arabic language

Users should be able to set nickname's of their contacts as they please. Ability to set nicknames should be in the contact details screen.

I hereby request the deletion of this project, because it violates my name rights. I registered the user name spixi on GitHub on January 2013. Naming your project spixi brings my name in relationship with cryptomining software, which I don't support. The name spixi is derived by my surname Spix.

If the project has not been deleted until 26 May 2020, I feel compelled to take legal action.

This app has such great potential as a great private messenger. In order to also make it available to the privacy community who dislike downloading from major app stores etc, is there any chance this app could be made available in a repository on f-droid?
