unreal-localization's Issues

[HowTo] The working method(s) we're using.

Since help is at an all-time low, I've decided that rather than force people to use one method (the repository) I'd synchronize this repo with the Wiki and let the people decide which method they want to use.

So, what's the thing?

  • We use Buggie's templates as a base. Each language is separated into its own folder under [Game]/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates (For the purposes of the localization, we're using French as an example, it's located under [Game]/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/French)
  • On top of those computer-generated strings, we paste the contents of (in order):
    • Unreal: 1) Unreal/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/WIP-UnrealGold/French and 2) Unreal/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/WIP-Unrealv227/French
    • Unreal Tournament: UnrealTournament/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/WIP-UnrealTournament/French
  • Once that's done, on top of them we paste the contents of the respective file in the Wiki (i.e. for botpack.frt we take a look at Botpack.frt in the Wiki and paste its contents on top of UnrealTournament/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/WIP-UnrealTournament/French/Botpack.frt)
  • Before the last step we must check the French Language Guidelines page in order to make sure the [Public] section is synchronized (otherwise the Advanced Options menu will have troubles related to this file). This step may require editing other files in order to avoid problems.
  • Once that's done, the file in the Wiki must be updated and UnrealTournament/SystemLocalized/WIP-Templates/WIP-UnrealTournament/French/Botpack.frt must be moved to UnrealTournament/SystemLocalized/Botpack.frt.

If you choose to use the Wiki in order to contribute, you must contact me in order to activate your account, in case you just opened one.

Unending quote in template

Just to let you know UnrealTournament\WIP\Template\UMenu line 353 has an unending quote, in case anyone forgets to put it!

WIP/WebAdminHTML .* - Spaces not set correctly

Ok...I think there is an issue in general in all the generated files. Check out all the WIP -> WebAdminHTML files. The HTML code at all the lines cannot work, if you see where the problem is.

Right:
; EN: Web3=<frame src="/MainLinksPage" name="menu" noresize frameborder="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" framespacing="0">

Wrong:
Web3=<frame src="/ MainLinksPage "name =" menu "noresize frameborder =" 0 "marginheight =" 0 "scrolling =" no "framepacing =" 0">

Incorrect display of Cyrillic font in utf-8

The code page in UTF-8 is not suitable for the correct display of the Russian translation in the game. Anyway, with the 227i patch installed.
utf-8:
utf-8_1
utf-8_2
In any case, this is the situation with the Cyrillic font. Perhaps the same problem with all non-Latin characters.

Correct display in the game, occurs with the code page files UTF-16Le.
utf-16le:
utf-16le_1
utf-16le_2

P.S. The Russian translation files present in patch 227i are also encoded in UTF-16Le.
