If you add a kde autoloader to the standard one, it will request superuser rights every boot and the battery setting of the previous session is reset.

Please make sure your issue is regarding using matebook-applet
, not some other software, and the driver interface permissions are configured properly on your system (consult the README).

never asks for superuser permissions, nor does it ever change the battery settings without you explicitly selecting one of the options in the interface.

Почитайте, пожалуйста, README внимательно.
Апплет не надо запускать под рутом. Как и для большинства графических приложений, это небезопасно, это плохая практика, это глупость. В Linux есть возможность дать нужные разрешения пользователю, есть даже возможность это автоматизировать, и в README об этом написано.
