All the interactions with underlying stream are done by StreamAdapter and it uses ReadAsync(Byte[], Int32, Int32, CancellationToken).

Your stream does not implement this method, so it falls back to default implementation.

Works as expected, I would say, and it is your stream which uses sync methods, LZ4 correctly uses Async one (but you are not implementing it).

yes i mistakenly thought that ReadAsync(byte[]) would fallback to Memory. my fault.
