Hey @AaronHolbrook
I am not sure if I follow - if you are using WPThumb in your templates via passing image sizes to get_attachment_image_src etc. then you'll only be creating images for those you are showing.
The idea of WPThumb is that it only creates images when they are displayed anywhere, so there is not danger of creating images unnecessarily
