blahaj's Introduction

hibi's github profile

jack of all trades, master of none

26, trans woman, bi/pan.

i have moderate skill with java, c, lua, html+css+js. i also know a bit about game design from my interest in games, all of this is informal. i also have a sense of code correctness from studying glitches and exploits in games generally.

  • minecraft modder - i like adding to things i already use and like
  • the hibi lies in the details - i know exactly the consequences of my code and i design it with them in mind
  • documentation, yes way - i enjoy sharing knowledge and talking about code
  • i have a site at hibiscus.pet, mostly html, using jekyll

blahaj's Issues

1.20.4: Recipe changes complain about recipe having air items

When loading a world, the following lines are emitted in the log:

[14:12:54] [Render thread/ERROR]: Parsing error loading recipe blahaj:blue_shark
com.google.gson.JsonParseException: Item must not be minecraft:air

However, at this point in time, this is unfixable because it requires a large refactor to the way the different versions of the game are handled.

Request: forge port?

This isn't an issue I'd just love if I could have Blahaj in my forge modpack. He is god

Bread pillow recipe is too generic

Expected behavior:
The recipe should have something or shaped in some way that makes it resemble bread.

Observed behavior:
"Wall of Orange Wool", this recipe could conflict with an actual recipe from a different mod, such as Consistency+. While this can be fixed with a datapack, it might go unnoticed when mixing different mods together, either as a player or a packer.

Expected fix:
A fix is expected to become available when the Recipe Remainder API in QSL gets merged and becomes available. The recipe will then include one bread which will not be consumed.

Forge 1.12.2 backport?

A lot of modpacks are made in 1.12.2 and using forge, would be awesome to be able to play with this mod as well

Request : Placing them down?

Not an issue at all, but would like to suggest a feature cause I really like this mod- Would it be possible to make them placeable on the ground or better on beds? I think it'd be great lil addition <3

More specialized crafting system required

Currently, relying on the crafting table to do all the crafting is bad because recipes would not be intuitive and would not allow for more advanced customization options, such as dying plushies with stripes of color or stuffing them with wool, because recipes can easily clash (see #9), or there wouldn't be enough slots or space for more advanced recipes.

1.18.2 backport?

I'm not sure how much work it would be to backport it to 1.18.2, if it isn't much would it be possible?

I tried to backport it myself but Text.translatable and Allays aren't in the 1.18.2 quilt version from what I can see. Removing the tooltip function and AllayEntityMixin removed all the compiling errors but the game would crash on launch due to registry errors; not too much of a coder so that's as far as I got.

Blahaj for a texturepack

would it be possible to use the blahaj model in a texture pack as a totem i know it would not be possible regularly but with optifine models it seams possible
