License violation in metrics/teststat/populate.go about kit HOT 3 CLOSED

I take this class of allegation seriously, but in this case I don't believe there is a credible claim to a violation. Specifically, the code in Go kit is a translation of the code in the Stack Overflow URL, not an exact copy. My understanding is that this represents fair use. I am happy to consider counter arguments.

Hi Peter. Sounds good. The reference to the stackoverflow article made it a bit harder to claim that this wasn't derivative from my end during the audit. I just wanted to give a heads up, and thanks for the good faith response.

FWIW, math.Erfinv was added to the standard library in Go 1.10, so you could change the implementation to use that instead.
