butter-toast's Issues

Prevent duplicate toasts

Is there a way to prevent duplicate toasts?

Some notification libs have a feature like that prevents duplicate toast messages popping up and instead extends the timeout of the already present notification. This could be done by comparing content or by specifying keys (messages with the same key replace each other).

Am I missing something or would this be a feature request?
Thanks!

How can I resolve this

butter-toast breaking the styles of page

This is about to drive me crazy:

I would like to use butter-toast (have 3.0.4), I managed to make it work (i.e. I do see a nice toast). BUT, it removes the other styles which come through styled-components.

Things I've tried:

  1. Making sure my app and butter-toast have the same styled-components version (and that no other stuff in my node_modules use styled-components, i.e. 3.4.9)
  2. Did the webpack tricks in https://www.styled-components.com/docs/faqs#why-am-i-getting-a-warning-about-several-instances-of-module-on-the-page (even though I already don't get the following error, so this shouldn't be an issue for me anyways)

It looks like there are several instances of "styled-components" initialized in this application.
This may cause dynamic styles not rendering properly, errors happening during rehydration process
and makes you application bigger without a good reason.

If you are using a building tool like Webpack, consider checking your bundle for duplication
of "styled-components" module.

After spending many hours and reading many styled-components help pages, I still can't make it work. I have webpack 4.16.0 fwiw.

Action required: Greenkeeper could not be activated 🚨

🚨 You need to enable Continuous Integration on all branches of this repository. 🚨

To enable Greenkeeper, you need to make sure that a commit status is reported on all branches. This is required by Greenkeeper because we are using your CI build statuses to figure out when to notify you about breaking changes.

Since we did not receive a CI status on the greenkeeper/initial branch, we assume that you still need to configure it.

If you have already set up a CI for this repository, you might need to check your configuration. Make sure it will run on all new branches. If you don’t want it to run on every branch, you can whitelist branches starting with greenkeeper/.

We recommend using Travis CI, but Greenkeeper will work with every other CI service as well.

Once you have installed CI on this repository, you’ll need to re-trigger Greenkeeper’s initial Pull Request. To do this, please delete the greenkeeper/initial branch in this repository, and then remove and re-add this repository to the Greenkeeper integration’s white list on Github. You'll find this list on your repo or organiszation’s settings page, under Installed GitHub Apps.

[FEATURE] Add global `dismiss` method

Feature description

Add a ButterToast.dismiss() method that dismisses visible toasts according to different matching criteria

Tray name matching

Dismisses all toasts from a specific tray (with a given name);

ButterToast.dismiss({
    name: 'tray-name'
});

Toast Id matching

ButterToast.dismiss({
    toastId: 'toastId'
});

All toast dismissal

Dismisses all active toasts.

ButterToast.dismiss();

Quick repeated clicks on the 'X' generates a warning

Clicking more than once (rapidly) on the 'X' of a notification pop-up results in the following React warning:

image

After I first saw this warning it took me sometime to understand how to reproduce it because I mistakenly did it (clicked 'X' twice rapidly).

Please confirm that this is not only on my environment.
If so, I think the fix is trivial and I'll be glad to assist with a PR but will need some guidance on the process as this will be my first time.

Cheers.

Documentation: how to manually position the tray with CSS?

Firstly thank you very much for this awesome package! a new v3 super-happy user.

It would be awesome to receive some usage examples of manual positioning of the tray (CSS).
or maybe support offsets from the ButterToasts' built-in positioning options?

Personally I need this when using a layout that include a header stripe which is fixed, and I would like the tray to be positioned at the top of the main container and not on the top of <body>.

Any assistance would be appreciated of how to accomplish the following:
Position the tray at the following:
Vertical: POSITION_TOP - X pixels
Horizontal: POSITION_CENTER

Thumbs up for the awesome work! much appreciated!
