Is there some reason you can't use the provided binaries?
Our preferred install method is via https://devkitpro.org/wiki/devkitPro_pacman.

The intended host is a 32 bit machine which is disconnected from the internet. As far as I know, devkitPro no longer produces prebuilt 32 bit binaries.

What OS is on that machine and how do you keep it updated?
Is it really 32bit hardware?
We're currently not really set up for offline installation and providing 32 bit binaries as well as 64 bit ones obviously increases the workload rather a lot.

At the moment, it dual boots Debian 9.6.0 Stretch and Windows 7, the main one used being Debian. I was able to extend the hotspot feature provided by an Android device, thus allowing this machine to connect to the internet for updating.
Yes, it really is a 32 bit machine.
I understand your motivations for not providing 32 bit binaries. In fact, this issue targets a missing dependency, and is not a request. For instance, I was able to build a working devkitARM toolchain but, as already stated, one of devkitPPC's dependencies cannot be retrieved at the moment, and I'm not too confident about editing the Makefile so to force using the previous gdb instead of the newer one.

I was curious about your setup though and obviously the portlibs packages we have for various platforms aren't really dependent on the bitness of the host machine. It's kind of a shame that some people are missing out on the delights of having the components managed by pacman.
In the meantime the missing archive has been uploaded.

@WinterMute Thanks for uploading the dependency. I agree that it's a shame not everyone can enjoy your package manager, but c'est la vie. devkitPPC built fine, by the way.
