[Gameplay][Winning and Draws] - Winning game

Game Results

  • A draw occurs if both players have only one king left
  • A player wins when it has captured all of the opposing teams pieces
  • A player wins when its opposing teams pieces can no longer move

An alert in the middle of the game window indicating who the winner is, when the user selects "OK" the game is no longer playable

The ability to perform a move

  1. Select on a piece, the only pieces that can be selected is the current player performing their move
  2. When selecting on a piece, all cells where moves can be placed will highlight (the background color will change)
  3. The user can select on those available cells to perform a move
  4. Once the selection is done, the piece is now updated to this location

Guides Color

When selecting on a piece, the guides should be a nice bluish color

[Board Position] - Numerals not in correct order

Numerals need to start with the number 1 and end at 72, they should be represented within the proper spacing also. We should not have opacity on tiles, nor should there be a rendering of numerals outside the defined tileset

Board tile borders

Add back border tiles, make it a 1px border of size 1 all around, and we will use this later on

[BUG] Guide and Selection not being removed properly

  • When selecting on a piece and then selecting on a move, the guide and the select should disappear
  • When selecting on a piece and then selecting on another piece, the guides and the selection from the previous selection should disappear

[Gameplay][Moves and Captures] - Captures are mandatory

If a capture is available, it must be taken. In the case of a capture being available, the guides for the move must only show the capture move and not the guide selections. This task does not fix the issue of forcing the user to perform a capture if it exists over a move, thats a bug that needs to be addressed

  • select on a cell with your piece ✓
  • a highlight of the available positions should be displayed ✓
  • Where the player will end up should be in blue, and where the capture will occur should be shown in green ✓
  • The piece performing the capture should be allowed to do the capture based on initial rules (single capture only supported right now) ✓
  • When the capture is complete, the piece performing the capture will on the specified blue cell, with the capture cell completely cleared✓
