Anybody here? 0.5 millis are $0.4, a ridiculously high fee for small transactions that is unnecessary.

Agree and amplified. Sending 0.01 BTC should not require any fees if its a small transaction using an oldish input: And yet with this code it adds a 0.0005 BTC fee that doesn't even get displayed prior to sending.
