webman-mod's Introduction

webMAN MOD - Fork of original webMAN plugin by Deank for Playstation 3

README IS STILL IN PROGRESS, IF YOU SEE ANY ERROR PLEASE TELL ME OR PUSH A COMMIT

webMAN MOD is a homebrew plugin for PlayStation®3 forked from the original webMAN/sMAN by DeanK with many features added.

The application provides extended services for PS3 console like web server, ftp server, file manager, netiso, ntfs, gamepad emulation, ps3mapi, tasks automation, memory debugger and more.

Our goal is to create an AIO plugin that includes many of the features available on the PS3 Scene in an easy and intuitive way. webMAN MOD is the result of the hard work of several users, developers and artists that collaborated with development, knowledge, resources, feedback & ideas.

webman-mod's Issues

vsh menu

I find out I can use the vsh menu to install pkg. Very cool feature.
The problem I find is after the pkg installation, holding the select button does not call the vsh menu again. I have to reboot to get it back.

I use webMAN MOD only since few day so maybe the problem is only because I don't know how to use it.
If so, can you tell me how to fix this ?

Thanks.

3d Bluray Iso mounted with webman mod loses picture/sound

This is a bug that has been in older builds of webman before. (and fixed) I was playing a mounted 3d bluray iso with webman mod 1.43.35. and it seems like when the ps3 fan turns on, the picture is "kicked" out of 3d mode, and/or the sound drops out. I disabled webman and tried mounting the bluray iso with IRISMAN v3.50.10, and I was able to play the full movie without any issues.
I was playing the files from a 128 gb Pny usb stick formatted ntfs. The bluray was in the BDISO folder. The same thing also happened with webman mod 1.43.33.

FTP "No Auto Power Off" is not working

To reproduce:

  1. Set "system auto-off" in the PS3 to 20 minutes and check "No Auto Power Off" in webman.
(I also have set an FTP 10 minutes timeout in webman)
  2. FTP to the PS3 and you can check that "system auto-off" values are now changed to OFF.

(So it should work. But It does not.)

  1. Start transferring a game, better if it has many small files. Don't touch the PS3 controller.
  2. After 20 minutes the PS3 is turned off, leaving many FTP files queued.
  3. Turn on the PS3, and the FTP transfer automatically resumes.
  4. This time the PS3 never turns off, because "system auto-off" settings are off and webman will keep them as default.

I'm not sure why it fails. But it always does.

Webman HTML button/links missing text values

Using latest Rebug 4.80.1. Upgraded the Webman to 1.43.35 with no issues. Now updated to 1.43.36 and now I'm missing text in various buttons and links like the shutdown and restart. The button is there, but there is no text value assigned to it so it's a blank button. I've attached a screenshot so you can see the HTML. I have not tried downgrading back to the previous Webman. Also, this happens on all browsers.

capture

All Games are shown twice.

Running 1.43.36 on Rebug 4.80.1.

In XMB under (small text) "load games with webMAN" => PS1/PS2/PS3 => Every game is shown twice.

First I thought its shown twice because of bin+cue in psx but the PS3 isos don't have that.
It's also not because of split files as small 600mb ISOs are also shown twice.

Auto-play (Disc Auto-Start) does not work.

I'm using latest rebug with webman lite 1.43.36. I have Disc Auto-Start activated in ps3 settings and auto-play in webman. I think this option is meant so when you select a game, the browser popups and closes, the game loads and it automatically starts like if a new game disc was physically inserted in the ps3.

But I never got it to work, I always have to select the game icon and manually start it. And the thing is I don't remember this feature ever working for me with the default webman that rebug packs, so maybe I'm doing something wrong or it does not work with emulated discs.

Thanks.

webMAN MOD 1.45.00

Has a problem with pkg install it disables fan control and causes over heating for big pkg

[Full offline mode] Disable internet access when playing games and allow only private network connections

If you have a banned ps3 or you don't want to log in to the PSN network while using a CFW, you are prompted time after time during a game to log in. This happens every time you load a game, when you change menus, etc.

One option is to disconnect the cable or disable WIFI. Another is to select the ps3 offline mode in the XBM settings. The problem is that you also loose the local network connection, you can't stream movies using the media player or games using webman, or access to the FTP, etc.

The best solution would be to create a full internet offline mode only when playing games, but allowing private network connections. The IP range is: ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network )
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Please also keep allowing dns resolution as usual. IE if you have a local domain "home" and you name your devices, you will have "ps3.home" pointing to 192.168.0.10; "pc.home" to 192.168.0.11, "router.home" to 192.168.0.1, etc.

Thanks!

System very slow (unplayable) when mM/own covers is enabled.

I don't know after which version this issue appears (maybe 1.45.09 or lower). It isn't fixed yet in 1.46.01.
When i power up my PS3 with "mm covers" enabled XMB icons are loading very long and game list isn't loading at all. Browser interface is also very slow (except settings menu). When i enable ICON0.PNG system is smooth like it should be. I was using own cover path before and i didn't have this issue.

And thanks, it's best plugin for PS3. Sorry for bad english skills.

System freeze on FTP transfers

webMAN 1.45.10 MOD

There is a problem in FTP server, if I upload few files simultaneously - system completely freezes and even long pressing power button will not power off.

I've tried Irisman - it can successfully handle 10 simultaneously transfers without freezes.

[WORKAROUND]
Set maximum 1 file upload in ftp client settings

psp game does not mount

I have this issue:
When I choose a game iso using the folder MY GAMES a notification appears and the PS3/PS2/PS1 games mount properly and I see the disc icon to start the game.
When I choose a PSP game, I see the notification but the psp game does not show in the PSP Launcher.

Note: If I use Multiman everything is fine, the game show in the PSP Launcher and I can start the game.

I tested with different versions of the PSP Launcher and with webMAN built in Rebug.
I enabled cobra and webman features with Rebug toolbox.

my setup:
rebug rex 4.80.1 cobra 7.3
webMAN MOD 1.45 Full
Multiman 4.80
PSP Remasters.

Can I do something to fix this ?

Not loaded after reboot

My enviroment is HABIB 4.81 and nobt ( only wired connection )
Right after system restore from recovery mode, and install update pkg, webMAN was loaded
But, After machine reboot, webMAN not loaded anymore until system restore

I tried also rebug cfw, and same problem

System auto-off turns off PS3 while FTP transfer is active

This is not a bug, because it happens even while installing very big ps3 game updates. After the time set the PS3 turns off no matter what. It seems that auto-off only relies in pressed game pad keys (or remote control HDMI-CEC) to check if there is activity. So it checks only for user input, not ps3 activity.

I thought if it could be possible for webman to detect when the ps3 is going off (there is even a message popup a few minutes before) and keep the ps3 on in there is some activity like an ongoing FTP transfer, or game update download / install. While leaving normal auto-off for other passive actions like a game running unattended.

If there is way of doing it, it would be better to turn off the PS3 just after the FTP transfer finished. IE: I have a 2 hour auto-off setting, but I'm transferring hundreds of GB to a new HDD. Even if it's over gigabit LAN, it takes 3 hours, so I leave it unattended. Webman detects when the FTP file transfer is over and after 3 hours shows the same popup message the PS3 shows a few minutes before turning off the PS3. So it only delays the time needed to complete the transfer, instead of making the 2 hours countdown start again after the transfer is finished.

Thanks

FTP server is broken

After "Fixed broken support for FlashFXP" -> f2395af

I can access the FTP server but it's completely empty, it does not list any file or folder.

umount combo problem

I am using the latest version webMAN MOD 1.46.01, but the umount combo (select+o) can not be controlled by the connected (UMOUNT) checkbox.
Very strange, because as I see instead of the "UMOUNT", the "SET MAX TEMP" checkbox has effect for this feature.

Thanks,

FTP server broken, lists folders as empty files

I don't know if this related to #8 but this never happened to me before until webMAN MOD 1.43.35. I'm using latest Rebug.

The FTP server is broken for me. Even before setting offline option to Game in setup.ps3, so this could be unrelated. I can access the FTP server, but folders are listed as empty files. I cannot browse up or down any directory. Never happened this to me with any webman version.

Thanks!

webMAN MOD 1.46.02

has multiple issues
most combo do not work now
and slaunch is BSOD on most of the time so have to reset system by console button

PS2 games won't be listed

Eventually ps2iso wont get any entries in the xml - hence I have to load them in mmcm - even then it won't get refreshed unlike ps3games.

pkg installation broken

I installed 1.45.08 full. When trying to install pkg file from wMM ps3 web browser the ps3 display a message of the pkg installing then the ps3 freeze.

I reverted to 1.45.05 full and installation worked without issue.

All my pkg are stored like this: usb/PKG/GAME NAME/GAME NAME.PKG
The .edat and/or .rap are in the same directory. If you can create a link on file size to copy them to usb000/exdata it would be usefull.

edit: I try with 1.45.08 standard. Same issue.

[Feature] Mute XMB sounds (startup, ¿selected game?)

A. To mute the startup PS3 chime you just have to replace the files "coldboot_multi.ac3" and "coldboot_stereo.ac3" located in "dev_flash\vsh\resource" with muted ones.

I did it myself because I find it really annoying. These are the files, same size and everything, just edited the volume to 0%. So muted. Rename to rar. You can include the option in webman if you feel it's worth it.

coldboot-muted.rar.pdf

B. when the PS3 is turned on, the last XMB launched program is auto selected. If it was a game with music preview, it can't be muted. Maybe there could be an option to mute sounds in previews. Just an idea.

webMAN MOD 1.45.01 trouble with ftp with filezilla

Webman Offline mode enabled fails to block all PSN and thirdparty servers

#5

Sorry to insist, like reported here (but closed, so I cannot reply), the PS3 detects an internet connection and tries to connect to PSN again and again. It also tries to connect and login to third party servers used by EA, Ubisoft, Square, etc.

Since it's hard to know all the servers servers each games uses, and the tracking consequences it has every time it tries to connect, I suggest implementing a more restrictive and real offline mode, allowing only the private ip range when playing games.

This would solve both privacy issues and annoying PSN login prompts.

Thank you for considering it.

1.46.02 freeze problem

Select refresh XML at XMB interface and freezing. After entering the multiMAN, don't know whether there is an association.

Combo SELECT+L1 and freezing.

Use combo SELECT+START to see the temperature, but don't know why getting into the slaunch, and freezing at the second time.

Issue on "Unmount Disc" on 1.46.00

Nice update, but there's a problem, when you select the "Unmount Disc" button, it just stays on a "blank" screen, i can't press any button, but the PS3 isn't froze, just like he's trying to do something else but there isn't anything to do... you should check it.

EDIT:

I made a video: https://sendvid.com/fp26surm

Yeah i know, my camera sucks, my phone sucks too xD

Dynamic fan control is activated when temperature is too high

Even if Dynamic fan control and temperature warnings are disabled, when the PS3 teperature is 80-85º the fan kicks at 100% making a lot of noise, and from then Dynamic fan control is kept active until you turn off the PS3 (because the option appears to be kept off in webman configuration)

With irisman, you can set fan control to syscon and the PS3 will work same as running an OFW. The 100% fan speed never happens using irisman (webman disabled). I don't know if this a feature or a bug, but syscon fan control should be always available and not overridden by Dynamic fan control.

Thanks

Video rec streaming

Here's a feature request!
The video rec feature is actually barely working. Games always freeze when recording start.
I have a idea or more like a work ground to improve this feature.
Instead of writing video to PS3 HDD we could stream the video on a udp socket. We could next receive the stream using something like ffmpeg/OBS (or/and netcat) on a computer to encode and record the video.
This could help:

  • Reading, writing problem
  • Reduce CPU usage by sending video and audio stream as raw or uncompressed format
  • Possibility to make livestreams (Twitch)

I don't know if it's actually possible but as I said, it's just a work ground.
Here is how to stream using ffmpeg : https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/StreamingGuide
Something similar is used on 3DS CFW : https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-3ds-screen-recording-without-a-capture-card-ntr-cfw-method.423445/

1.47.00 PSX games freeze PS3 system

So I've been trying to get Silent Hill (NTSC-U) version to work on my PS3 with Rebug 4.81.2 but the game just won't load, I just get a black screen, but the PS3 won't freeze though.

Any other game loads fine, the webMAN version was 1.45.09, so I upgraded to 1.47.00 and now all of my PSX games cause the PS3 to freeze completely.
When downgrading back to 1.45.11 they work again, but Silent Hill still won't work.

The only way to get Silent Hill to work on my system is to disable cobra mode via Rebug Toolbox and then load the game via MultiMan, then it'll work, but since the fan is blowing louder than a fighter plane I can't really play the game..

I can't figure out the issue, but it seems to be related to webMAN, even tough other people have confirmed that Silent Hill works with the latest Rebug CFW and webMAN 1.45.09, so I seem to be the only one with this problem.
I can't say for sure that the freeze bug with PSX games on 1.47.00 is a common issue though.

Edit: Just tried the PAL version and it's working perfectly fine.. But various NTSC-U dumps won't work via webMAN, they work only with the MultiMan workaround described above..

XMB Freeze after PKG installation

The XMB freeze when pressing the circle button after the PKG installation.

It happens with vsh menu or with browser. Same issue on 1.46.01 and 1.46.02 (standard)

To prevent freeze I hold select button for VSH Menu and select webman setup. then close browser.

Singstar load another title (error!)

slaunch mod issue 1.46.02

If I press triangle to sort games the first ps2 and ps1 game icons doesn't appear and the game can't be launch. When I press X it returns to XMB.

I can see an empty box with the game name but the link is not there.

The 2 games launch properly when the games icons are not sorted.

edit: I plugged a usb hdd and some icons are not showing in ps3, psp and roms, but showing when not sorted. I have all games .jpg icons on the hdd. All icons have the exact same size 260x300

Auto-play not working

I am using the latest version webMAN MOD 1.46.01 but the auto-play feature is not working in this release.
In the previous version it functioned well.

Thanks,

Auto-select last game played & go back to the Games column

  1. Since webman already remembers the last game played, why not auto-select it when browsing a list of games? If I open the PS3 folder, instead of selecting the first game in the list, point to the last played game. Select in this case means pointing the cursor over the game cover, not exec. Like it happens with irisman, it starts and selects the last game. You can also implement the feature to remember the last game played in every folder (PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP).
  2. If autoplay is not enabled, when you select a game and press X, you get the info message of the game loading, but you are kept at the same game list and you have to manually go back to the root of the Games column and select the game icon. It would be better if webman automatically went back (pointing to "webMAM Games") so the user could just go down and select the game icon when ready.

PSX Iso

Webman mod 1.43.35 freezes when try to load a PS1 ISO from usb in fat32 the 1.43.33 the PS1 work great

SingStar swap not working with mount.ps2

Hello, I tried to use the swap disc function with WebMan Mod but I can't with mount.ps2.

I mount the game with the computer navigator, and then in the bottom of the page appear the games that I have with [PS2 label. But if I use this links it mounts the game with the command mount.ps2, and the PS3 (after swap the discs) shows a warning that says "this is not a compatible singstar game".

However, if I copy the link and change the . for _ (I mean, using the command mount_ps2 instead of mount.ps2), I do the same thing (swap the discs) and it works without any trouble. So, Is there anyway that I can change the link of the games from using mount.ps2 to mount_ps2, or the only way is to copy the link and change the . for _?

Thanks you.

Sorry this a question about ROMS

Hi, Sorry my english but I hate write using a translator
