amazonsummarizer's Issues

Collecting & understanding variations between files from various amazon sites

Since my file had data for amazon.in and amazon.co.uk , this will be our first priority to make compatible with. Any additional file(s) that have different terminology/structure from these two will also be made compatible over time. Hence, submission and/or collection of different format files is encouraged.

Readme-Update v2.0

  • added hackoctober fest 2022 banner
  • add tags for better visibility to contributors

Currency normalization

orderHistory has multiple currencies if same account is used across different amazon sites (Amazon India, UK and so on). This shall be normalized by taking an input/config of which currency to report in and all currencies should be converted to it.

  • taking reporting currency input
  • converting all available currencies to target currency
  • using the timedate column to fetch the conversion rates of when purchase was made (might need multiple api calls; hence, optional)

Create "control samples" with gsheet

To know if the results of scripts are correct, we should also have another (preferably, more controlled/manual) method of calculating same results. Best way to do so is to use Gsheets (not using MS Excel for accessibility) and do equivalent calculations on same input. Which will be matched with results from scripts to verify the scripts are working as expected.

location vs spending

Acceptance criteria

  • How much is spent based on location (city, state, country)

Download Data with least clicks

Earlier there used to be a single zip download, now for all data there around 157(+/-1) zips. ;-;
Let's automate this too as much as possible.

How to - documentation

  • Add the instruction to put input .csv files below /inputFiles folder & any other necessary edits at your discretion
