Test of viability of restarting this. Last known working compiler for the GNU makefile build is TDM MingW64 5.5.

It's more idiomatic to signal which *.exe is being built with preprocessor defines. Cf. Cataclysm:Z .

Besides being a reasonably fast way to recover from the radical syntax issues affecting parse_tree jumping from C++03 to C++17:

• Many other tools actually want to see comments. Just because they are dropped when going to binary, doesn't mean we should drop them "instantly".
• Part of the progress rate stall back in late 2012, was the increasing difficulty of pattern-matching the C++ standards. Kuroda grammar bypasses that (once implemented, only have to update for standard changes)

uchar_blob actually has owning semantics so it is operationally NOT POD. Doesn't appear to be used in contexts where C realloc would help.
