This course provides conceptional and methodological guidelines on how to define and estimate causal effects in various settings. The course begins by examining the differences between randomized designs and observations studies, as well as some challenges in causal effect estimation with observational studies. It then goes over useful causal inference methods for evaluating policy effects from different types of empirical evidence. Finally, the course covers advanced topics, including mediation analysis and time-varying treatments.
