Silence when loading custom IRs

Issue
When using the zeroconf plugins with a custom IR file, I do not get any sound.
This was initially observed in Carla and just now replicated in Ardour.
It does not work, regardless whether Buffered convolution is enabled or disabled. It also does not work when loading the default delta-48k.wav IR file.

What is working

  • The versions with presets are working in Carla as well as in Ardour
  • When increasing up the "Dry" parameter, I start receiving output, but of course that's only the dry output.
  • I usually used convoLV2 in the past, however since this commit, it is not longer installed with the x42 plugins: x42/x42-plugins@c3e9890

Troubleshooting

  • Probably you can replicate it as well?
  • If not, I am available to help troubleshooting the issue. Please give me a starting point, what might be good to check first. I could not find any logs so far.

Plugin seems to crash Ardour after audio export

Hi Robin,

I use the x42 IR Convolver plugin in Ardour and it seems to be the cause of crashes right after the audio export has finished. The exported audio sound like expected, that is, audio export works and so does the plugin, in terms of output.

I run Ardour without Jack, only with ALSA and I've tried to uninstall Pulseaudio, but it still crashes. The Present Convolver Plugin doesn't crash Ardour.

Please let me know if you need/want any kind of info or backtrace.

A huge thank you for the overwhelming plugins; the Preset Convolver with the IR descriptions is extremely nice and so are all the other plugins that you provided. Let me know if and how I can help, Wilhelm.

Crashing Ardour

It seems that version 0.4.2 still crashes Ardour. See the crash log.

Removing all instances resolved the issue and I haven't had a crash since.

Let me know if I can provide any more info.

Plugins file state doesn't propagate after DAW start

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open DAW (Reaper, in my case)
  2. Load Stereo convolver (in non-preset mode)
  3. Set a file. Save project. Reload DAW
  4. Although correct file will be saved in project state, it won't be shown in DAW's UI. When pressing "Browse" it will show user's home directory.

I'd think it's a Reaper problem, but another plugin https://github.com/swesterfeld/liquidsfz manages to propagate changes to UI correctly.

How do I load an IR?
