ipmpack2's Issues

name elements of coeff argument in .create*Obj

More complex IPMs (e.g., with multiple covariates) make it difficult to track element order with coeff as an unnamed numeric vector. There is also inconsistency in the type of data that the coeff argument takes across .create*Obj functions (list in .createFecObj only).

A solution could unify all coeff arguments as (optionally) named lists. Named list elements should be passed correctly regardless term order in the formula. Argument should accept vectors for backwards compatibility as well as accepting improperly/unnamed lists. Both deviations should produce a clear warning reporting the assumptions made.

to-fix:

  • .createGrowthObj
  • .createSurvObj
  • .createFecObj
