Why is it awesome?

  • This is the grandfather of living-legend Razer DeathAdder, and it is good nowadays as well.

What is good?

  • It has the same shape as legendary "3.0"

What is wrong?

Razer DeathAdder Elite

Razer DeathAdder Elite

The World’s Best Gaming Mouse

img

DeathAdder is simply the best successor of iconic Microsoft IntelliMouse 3.0A. Razer have been produced this mouse over 10 years by now. DeathAdder Elite is considered as the most advanced and ergonomic mouse. And it really is!

It is hard to find a person who don't like this mouse once tried.

Being the most popular product in the World has one drawback - every manufacturer wants to make own clone. And they did. DeathAdder has tons of competitors, some of them are really good and cheaper. But the Elite is Elite.

Notice. The Razer Mamba has different shape, and is not the "wireless DeathAdder".

Why is it awesome?

DeathAdder has been one of the most popular gaming mouses ever since its initial release in 2006. But it is comfortable and for every-day usage. The mouse has "everything right".

What is good?

  • Shape, materials, buttons, etc.. Mouse is really comfortable.
  • just "everything right"

What is wrong?

  • Soft-touch materials are hard to clean. This mouse will not look as good as new after a year of use.
  • right side may may be uncomfortable for someone(notice it almost impossible). Zowie EC2-A/B better on this point.
  • Razer is "famous" of random quality. Buttons may not live long(if you play games a log). For office users it will be OK.

Important specs

  • Weight: 95g

Recommendations

Use it on a soft mousepad.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO

80 Ohm
250 Ohm

Short description of a product.

Not only do they sound great but they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned

I have a set of Beyerdynamic DT-770 80 ohm and a bravo v2, and even with such a low impedance, and everything sounds much richer with the amp. That said, they also sound great straight from my desktop and macbook without the amp, and pretty good from my mobile. But when I add the amp, turning up the volume reveals undiscovered intricacies and things here and there and really lets me get lost in the sounds.

The DT770's are pretty good but not as neutral as the MDR7506. However, they're slightly more comfortable and have a wider sound stage.

Beyerdynamic DT 240 PRO

For live monitoring where you want to hear everything wrong with your audio, the Sony MDR-7506, Sony MDR-V6, Senal SMH-1000 and Audio Technica ATH-M50 are better. These headphones are better for kicking back and enjoying music, and are more comfortable. The beyerdynamic DT 1350 cost more, but offer far superior sound and slightly better isolation than any of these. If you're serious about monitoring, get the DT 1350.

Good headphones last forever. My first pair of beyerdynamic DT990 that I bought over 30 years ago still look, work and sound great. Therefore if you're buying these to enjoy music, I'd suggest springing for either of the far superior beyerdynamic DT 1350 for use at home or in studio, or the beyerdynamic T51i for use with iOS devices. Yes, they cost twice as much, but after a few years you'll have forgotten the price while you're still enjoying their superior quality every day.

Detachable cords make it easy to replace a bad one, but makes these less attractive for use in schools.

Get these if you don't want to spend more than $100 and prefer a warmer, more distant sound; otherwise I'd suggest spending more if you want the really great sound one usually gets from everything else from beyerdynamic.

Audio-Technica ATH-M60x

The low-profile, closed-back, on-ear design provides excellent sound isolation and a great fit, which is enhanced by the exceptional comfort and durability of the memory foam earpads and headband.

img

Excellent build quality and Audio Technica’s rock-solid reputation only sweeten the deal. But once you put these babies on and give them a listen, there’s no going back; this really is an impressive headphone that sounds nothing short of miraculous. @Audio46

Why is it awesome?

Even if you had tons of money to spend, you still might not get a better sound with a different pair of cans. Instead, I would say, get the M60X and consider a good DAC or a high-res DAP for FLAC or WAV files. Then kick back and kiss the sky. @Audio46

Philips HiFi Stereo Headphones

Philips HiFi Stereo Headphones

Product title: Philips SHP9500s

These headphones are "HD 600" with better sound stage and are more comfortable.
@Z Reviews

img

Why is it awesome?

They are one of the most comfortable headphones. And they sound really good, very close to the HD 600. Perfect for long listening sessions.

All reviewers compare Philips SHP9500s to Sennheiser HD 600, and they are very close to each other in terms of sound and comfort. But HD 600 costs three times more then SHP9500s. That's why Philips SHP9500s is amazing for its price.

What is wrong?

  • Pretty hot cans (summer time).
  • Sit pretty loose on small head, clamping force is not strong enough. HD 600 holds better on small head.
  • Siblings sound slightly irritatingly. Sounds a little bit bright(for some people). But you probably would not find better alternative for this price.
  • Hard to find on the market
  • Overpriced on Amazon. Can be found only on Aliexpress with recommended price tag
  • Not the best choice for Hard Rock.

Important specs

  • Weight: 0.33 kg (0.728 lb)
  • Impedance: 32 ohm
  • Detachable cable

Recommendation

Best suitable for medium/large head. For small head, look for other headphones. Good combination with V Moda Gaming Mic Cable.

K7XX easier to drive, AMP not required, but is very welcoming, it benefit from it noticable
The amount of detail that the HD6XX give, can be a little lo engaging. It is not good for background music, when you really need to focus on a work, not on the music. It is tiring for a long session. The K7XX is opposite - laid back sounding, more warmer, a little bit less details(but still a lot)

K7XX more suitable for background-work.
HD6XX is for purposeful music listening. One of The best audiophile headphones.

K7XX is lighter, but feel heavier than HD6XX, because of headband. Headband of K7XX put a bit(uncomfortable) clamp pressure on you head (if it small)

Headphones index page

The Sound and the Music is very sensitive topic for many of popple. Define the awesome is almost impossible. Everyone hears differently. That's why we divide and sort them by the price.

This list compiled not for professional musician. The main audience is people who just want to listen the music all day long, while working or doing something on the computer. Not for audiophiles for sure, but even they may find this list useful.

Open/Close-back design is up to you. Open-back design is preferable for working in not noisy environment, Close - for open-space offices.

Therefore the criteria for awesomeness are:

  1. Comfort. Without any inconvenience of pressure on ears.
  2. Mellowed Sound: soft, gentle, tender. For long hours of listening.
  3. Easy to drive. Should work fine without AMP or external DAC. And reveal full potential with it.

WARNING: Comfort criteria defines the Fit Type - Over Ear and On Ear are highly preferable. Many great products are not listed below case of Easy to drive criteria and mellow sound, - most headphones should work good on any laptop/PC with on-board sound card.

New Poker II and POK3R keyboards

iKBC New Poker II

Probably the most known and customizable 60% size keyboard, remarkably good product with history.

The New Poker II is a compact, aesthetically pleasing and highly functional keyboard.

img

New Poker II equipped with Cherry MX Switches, available in Red, Brown and Blue. Case color: Black or White (mechanicalkeyboards.com). This keyboard is fully programmable via hardware so no software is required.

Notice. If you are looking for other type of switchers, then take a look at KBParadise V60 with ALPS/Matias/Kailh switchers, or at Plum Nano 75 with Topre clones.

Why is it awesome?

Beautiful, elegant keyboard. Fully programmable. Layout Layers, programmable layers. Top-1 programmable keyboard in 60%-size category.

What is good?

  • Build quality and overall implementation
  • Fully programmable, 3 layers, no software required
  • DIP switchers:
    • layouts (Qwerty, Dvorak, Colemak, Workman)
    • change Fn & Pn positions
    • turns on the arrow keys on Left Shift / Fn / Pn / Ctrl
    • swap Capslock / Left Ctrl
    • swap Win / Alt

What is wrong?

  • Doesn't have adjustable feet

Important specs

  • Weight: 545g
  • Dimensions: 290(L) x 120(W) x 28(H) mm
  • No LED/backlight
  • Keycap Material: PBT
  • USB 2.0 and Type-C connection

Recommendations

Some keys are not programmable(keys assigned to layouts); some(like Fn) can be remapped only in non-default layer (google how to do it). In this aspect Vortex Pok3r allows a bit more flexibility.
