3gp's Introduction

Turborepo starter

This is an official npm starter turborepo.

What's inside?

This turborepo uses npm as a package manager. It includes the following packages/apps:

Apps and Packages

  • docs: a Next.js app
  • web: another Next.js app
  • ui: a stub React component library shared by both web and docs applications
  • eslint-config-custom: eslint configurations (includes eslint-config-next and eslint-config-prettier)
  • tsconfig: tsconfig.jsons used throughout the monorepo

Each package/app is 100% TypeScript.

Utilities

This turborepo has some additional tools already setup for you:

Build

To build all apps and packages, run the following command:

cd my-turborepo
npm run build

Develop

To develop all apps and packages, run the following command:

cd my-turborepo
npm run dev

Remote Caching

Turborepo can use a technique known as Remote Caching to share cache artifacts across machines, enabling you to share build caches with your team and CI/CD pipelines.

By default, Turborepo will cache locally. To enable Remote Caching you will need an account with Vercel. If you don't have an account you can create one, then enter the following commands:

cd my-turborepo
npx turbo login

This will authenticate the Turborepo CLI with your Vercel account.

Next, you can link your Turborepo to your Remote Cache by running the following command from the root of your turborepo:

npx turbo link

3gp's Issues

Create a 3D model for Material

TBD regarding this, since it doesn't make much sense to display a material just hanging around. Maybe we dont need materials to be rendered like this? Maybe we onl y show materials inside warehouses, for example a pile of sand inside a warehouse.

Create a 3D model for Equipment

Some generic, non specific, equipment. We could do specific too, perhaps later on we can have a multitude of models to choose from based on class (excavator or similar). For now a generic factory equipment should be good enough

Design System & App Design

  • Colors
  • Buttons design
  • Inputs design (text, select..)
  • App sidebars and floating UI arrangement
  • Object creation workflow

Define a generic interface and management of assets/objects

It should be relatively easy to add new objects to the app. Potentially this might be coming from the API to support users creating their own thing.
But for now its enough that we have a typesafe way of doing it.

What it should support:

  1. Link to the model itself
  2. Some metadata such as name
  3. The type of the entity
  4. TBD: Configuration on how this is exported to ISA-95 (based on message type)

Generic drawers

Since almost the entirety of the application will be in some kind of drawer, we will need some generic drawer component. But there are some requirements:

  1. The drawer should supporting opening on any side
  2. Opening via a control buttton
  3. Programatic opening
  4. Auto placement
  5. Multiple instances

Some nice to haves (not urgent):

  1. Animations
  2. Accessibility (meaning tab support, focus support)

Regarding no. 5, it is important to support multiple instances because it's possible to have multiple drawers open at the same time. This might not be even relevant depending on the implementation, but just something to keep in mind
