jabber and telegram keeps crashing

Hi there - i just tried to install your bridge again - this time with success.
However, it sadly is falling into a crashloop and the default debug level is not telling much.

bridge-v2 starting up... (INTEGRATE ALL TEH THINGS!)
Starting Mainloop and services.
telegram started.
jabber started.
telegram crashed!
jabber crashed!

Unable to install required gem

Hi, im unable to install the gem irc.

Makefile:238: recipe for target 'posix_serialport_impl.o' failed

Im new to ruby - is there any alternative gem out there?
