skoda-superb-combi-style-1.4-tsi-iv's Issues

Password for online-services has to be entered multiple times

After registration of online services I entered my credentials on the car's screen (touch). Entering my password takes about 5 minutes, as this account allows to track and open my car.
When the credentials have been entered, the screen jumps back to entering the credentials and is empty again.

What I found out is that when I drive to a different location where mobile internet (as far as I can guess O2) is available, the registration works.

I would expect the registration screen to tell me that there is no connection and let me resubmit.

Car forgets driving mode

When I switch the driving mode from D to B (recuperation in electric mode by leaving the gas pedal), the car doesn't remember the next time I start it. I have to re-enable recuperation.

Navigation-button does not show navigation

Bildschirmfoto von 2021-09-27 08-55-44
Only a strange circle of earlier targets is shown where not even the orientation matches. Only the tiny little triangle on the bottom left will show the card.
I would expect to have a full map when I press this (dedicated!) button.

Btw: Even after hitting this tiny little triangle (while driving!), a completely useless map is shown:

Summer time is one week late

The clock doesn't automatically switch to summer time (I'll test with winter time in a few weeks). Or at least not at the correct date. It's one week late.
And if I try to manually set the clock, I have to disable GPS-clock or it will reset again.

Heating seems to only work on the battery, not on the motor

When I drive in cold conditions (<10°C) and have a full battery, the battery is empty after about 2-3 hours of driving in hybrid mode with the gasoline motor on when it was full before. Energy is wasted for moments where the motor is off (which even then doesn't go below 6..7l/100km), but mostly for heating. It seems that the car doesn't heat through the motor, but only through a blow-dryer. It also seems that the effectiveness of the heating drops heavily on temperatures below 10..14 °C where it seems like the heatpump won't work anymore and a simple blow-dryer takes over. I see ~2kW of energy loss during heating.

Also, when the battery is empty, I see minutes of recharging the battery where the car with gasoline motor on feels like driving up a mountain. For me it feels like the battery is only recharged for being able to turn the motor off again for some seconds (which obviously is stupid) and for heat/climate.

Virtual Cockpit Settings get lost

After configuring virtual cockpit settings, they are either set to some strange default or randomized - I couldn't figure this out.
I always want the current song playing on the left and the km of energy left on the right. However that's always reset after a few drives.

Lane assist doesn't start

Every ~5th drive, the lane assist doesn't "start" or "boot". Instead it's completely disabled. Usually it's enabled about 30s after starting the car. If it doesn't come up, I have to pull the cruise-controll-trigger and disable cruise-control again to get it working.

Car forgets dynamic suspension settings

I have dynamic suspension in the car which I can set to sports, normal and soft. The setting is lost whenever I restart the car. It worked on the last revision of the car.

Car doesn't (really) warn when lights are off at night

The car has light sensors and knows it's dark as it shows on the dark-mode nav screen. However the only warning I get when lights are turned off is a warning on the speedometer screen.
I mean, come on. This is fucking dangerous and the car bings LOUDLY when it thinks (see #5) that I've no hands on the wheel or when the temperature drops below 4°C (!). Or even when it thinks someone's belt is not on.
How can it be that it does not bing VERY LOUDLY when I drive without lights in the obvious night? You wouldn't even have to look outside. I mean, the car has GPS and knows it's fucking night where I am at the moment.

Heat and climate only work when ignition is on, but I can't turn ignition on when the car is charging

When parking outside at a charge point and the car is full of snow, I would like to heat my seats, the windows and the car inside so that the snow melts and the windows are clear.
However turning on ignition only works when the car is unplugged, so all energy must then come from the battery. As the car won't use the heat pump below ~10°C, heat is generated by hot metal (like a blow dryer) which consumes ~2.5kW.

Btw: Ventilation works when charging, just not heating.

I would expect being able to heat the car while it's still plugged.

Lane assist warns to take over control even though my hands are on the steering wheel.

Especially when driving straight, but often enough also in curves the lane assist (I have enabled active assist) warns to take over control because it thinks I have no hands on the steering wheel.

This is especially annoying as it makes a loud noise every now and then, waking up passengers.

I understand that the detection of hands on the steering wheel is done by the servo. However detection is way to inaccurate. It was way better in my old Skoda Superb 2.0 TSI.

I am not willing to turn the lane assist off, as this feature was one of the reasons I bought this car.

12V connector (cigarette lighter) is always powered on

Even when ignition is off or the car is locked the connector provides 12V. This is a problem with dashcams as they need to have power off in order to stop recording or go into surveillance mode. Also after days of useless filming they bleed the battery.
