elements-of-html's Issues

characterset not defined

For the index.html the characterset is not defined - quotation marks may not be rendered correctly.

<a> should not have angle brackets

None of the other elements have <> around them; nor should the anchor element. Other one-letter elements (i, b, u) don't have <> around them either.

Missing and removed elements

Updating the original index [1] and cross-checking the index here I noticed a few inaccuracies:

  • <dialog> is part of HTML, but not of HTML 5.1
  • <hgroup> is part of HTML, but not of HTML 5.1
  • <rb> is not part of HTML
  • <rtc> is not part of HTML

I’m feeling free to just report these for now.

Need for this index?

Given that the original index at http://meiert.com/en/indices/html-elements/ seems more frequently updated and now also includes HTML 5.1 I wonder, is this index here still needed—or what plans are there for it?

In the beginning it seemed the version here would add value (HTML 5.1, community), but now it seems the original might just do (I have no plans to not update it in the future, either). I’m open to discussing ideas here so that we can make sure we a) add value to other developers and b) use our time effectively :)

publish to npm?

I'd love to be able to use this an installable package. I'd also be happy to help maintain this package if you're too busy to do this. Thanks!

attributes of html?

As far as I know, no official document exists just yet? Besides the global attributes.

Given the document structure I suppose one could write a DOM extractor that run through w3c doc and generate a table, linked back to HTML elements each attribute are allowed to be on.

Would be quite useful for people working on server-side virtual-dom related stuffs. There are some existing project, such as html-attributes, and React, but hard to tell if they are complete or up-to-date.
