Disabled SIP, uninstalled Cdock and reinstalled to cDock2, made the necessary changes under "accessibility" and yet my Transparency setting in cDock still does not work. What am I missing?
Howdy,
Just installed cDock 0.12.2 and re-booted. Even though it is set to startup at login I had to open cDock and restart the Dock. Note: cDockHelper is on the login list. I'm using Sierra. It seems to be working properly under El Capitan.
Good Luck,
Herb Schulz
Why do i have to fill in my password for 4 times each time when I log in?
You can view the logs of the agent at "$HOME"/Library/Application\ Support/cDock/logs/agent.log

There's (1) show only active apps, and (2) dim hidden items. How about (3) dim inactive apps? I.e. dim the icons of all the apps that are not running. (I think I already mentioned this in the other cDock repository.)
In the themes section everywhere that you can put a color in you should also be able to put a gradient in
Steps to reproduce:
The problem occurs on all sliders.
Howdy,
I start up cDock at login. I'm now getting dialog boxes at startup that basically say that cDock Helper is not signed. I have to manually go to the General tab of System Preferences->Security & Privacy and tell it to load. I have it set for App Store and Signed apps.
Good Luck,
Herb Schulz
Either OSAscript or SIMBLhelper are popping up on every computer startup, asking to install something. After typing in my admin password OSAscript gives no message, SIMBLhelper gives an error that it was not installed properly.
But cdock seems to work correctly.
This was introduced in version 0.12.1 Didn't happen before.
Any thoughts?

Ralf
OS 10.9 / 13" Mac Pro Retina
Fullscreen images do not fully reach the right edge of the screen. Coding error in screen resolution.
Very pleased with the product, just wondering if you could put more effort on the icon reflections. I think they should be closer to the icon and not transpose the indicators. The ability to intensify/blur the reflection would be awesome.
Would love to see a wider 3D dock too (3D Clean but slightly wider) with custom square indicators.
Other than that love my 3D Clean dock ! the effects on launching , the app bounce, darkening of icon.
The theme works fine. But when I try to change icon size or anything under Dock settings, I cannot apply. Why is this?
installed cDock hoping i could get my folders on top to work again now that Xtrafinder doesnt work correctly in 10.11.
But unlike the preview images, I dont see any option for that in cDock 2
Am I missing something?
Should this still be used as there are public methods to implement/control the UI?
Currently it's used only to hide window's titlebar.
Although, NSWindow's titlebarAppearsTransparent and titleVisibility properties are available since OS X 10.10, we can show default titlebar instead of hiding it.
So i tried to create my own theme using the codes under plist but they don't seem to work at all, also before you used to be able to slant the icons on the dock either more left/right is that gone?
Tried using older versions (pre 11) in which icon reflections work as intended. However theming in general doesn't work too well (its not working at all except for correct icon reflections - didn't try anything else) with older versions on 10.12!
Anyway, 12.1 does draw icon reflections, but only on icons of currently active apps which is slightly annoying. (refer to picture below)
Reproduction:
Tried on clean install as well - same behaviour
Seems to happen from version 11 (at least, not sure about 10)
The bug also occurred on 10.10.5; currently running 10.12 (16A320)
would use older versions but as mentioned above, they're not working too well
Not sure if this is possible with cDock, but this is an enhancement request.
I thought SIP had to be disabled for cDock2 to run, because the instructions make no mention of enabling it again. I've been running my Mac with SIP disabled for months, since installing cDock, and I thought it was still disabled. But I just tried to install another app which also requires that SIP be disabled, and it couldn't install because it says SIP is enabled.
It's likely that SIP was re-enabled a few days ago when I reinstalled the OS, but I never noticed since cDock still works and my chosen theme is functional. I've now read online that some apps only require SIP be disabled during installation.
If it's only necessary for SIP to be disabled during install, then the instructions need to say that SIP should be re-enabled after installation.
Here is the message I Have :

Definitively I DON'T want restore !!!
Any other way ?
How can I Full cDock previous version desinstallation,…

http://w0lfschild.github.io/app_cDock.html !!! ATTN!
My 12.4 works fine on Sierra but sometimes on startup i does not start, but i serch the app and start then the theme is apply ! Very great program !! Thanks, Vielen Dank !
After updating to the latest version I have to re-enter my admin password after every reboot/login for the cDock helper, sometimes also for the SIMBL Helper. This wasn't necessary in previous versions. (??)
Swift is new 'modern' language...
Because of that it looks like Javascript (and I'm more Javascript developer than Objective-C, C++, etc.)
it's easier to write on swift rather then on objective-c (at least for me).
I can make a fork of cDock-GUI and remove (or rewrite) all the stuff like PFMoveApplication
, PFAboutWindow
, WAYAppStoreWindow
, WAYWindow
.
But I have the following question: will you then merge my changes when the time comes, or I should not even try to do this? My priority is to make all the code clean and simple.
PS: I can support new features you add to cDock in my fork as well, so there might be no problems in differences between GUI or user experience.
Currently I have cDock set to dim applications on mouse over. But a great additional feature would also be the reverse option, namely to dim (not hide) inactive apps (plus optionally folders & trash & "Recent Applications") in the same manner that hidden applications are dimmed, and brighten (or further darken) the icons on mouse-over. It would fit with my overall setup which includes a lot of dimming anyway: i.e. using Menu Eclipse and HazeOver.
It would be nice if there was an option to split the dock in two docks: left and right.
Do these continual Console messages have anything to do with cDock?
I'm guessing no, but wanted to ask since dock is mentioned.

First time downloading and installing cDock2 and when I started the app up with SIP disabled, I keep getting update notifications asking me to update to 10.2 and the update never takes and keeps me on 9.11.
SIMBL is installed and working properly
SIP is disabled
OS: 10.11.3 (El Capitan)
Theme 10.4 not working properly. Vertical line on dock overlaps icons among other problems.
If you have either of these versions please manually update to 0.10.3
https://github.com/w0lfschild/cDock2/releases/tag/v0.10.3
Hopefully moving from 0.10.3 updates should work properly.
got the message of the new update being available. Installed, but on every attempt to start up the program, it crashes. This is on a MBPr 2014 running 10.10.5.
Themes are still showing though...

Ralf
Unfortunately theming doesn't function at all. I've disabled rootless but it still doesn't do anything.
Strangely enough, the Dock Settings section works properly.
I've tried manually killing the dock (killall Dock
) but that doesn't do anything either.
OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.

Does this have anything to do with Metal not being supported by my system..?
Hmm.
I empty my trash trash like a maniac secondary to my obsessive personality. It's a dangerous game. I'd rather just hide that mess in case I end up needing something. Thoughts or ideas on how I can do this immediately?
With this option set, the "mini-dock" which pops up when something is open on iPhone has the background image, but doesn't seem to have the flared edges like the main dock.
Actually, the edges of the mini-dock are vertical, even when the edges of background.png arent.
Hi there,
I'm working in Macos Sierra 10.7 and wonder how it is possible that the 3d-dock is visible on my MacBook pro, but is still two-dimensional on my iMac? I'm using the latest version of cdock (posted yesterday...)
Anyone?
You know there are bunch of apps that only works in the background or don't have GUI, but they do have an icon on the dock. Could you please add a feature to hide those apps on the dock.
I've tried changing the indicator image files within themes but this doesn't seem to work. I've also tried MacUtil to no avail. Any way to use custom app indicator lights besides the ones provided? I was using MacUtil for cDock & recently updated to cDock 2.
I used the 10.8 theme, but now it doesn't work. It stopped working ever since I tired to install an old version of cDock (yes I know that's weird to do, I was just experimenting ). All other themes work fine, I tried to uninstall cDock but when I download it again, it still doesn't work and I still see old custom themes in the cDock themes menu that don't exist anymore in cDock/Contents/Resources/themes. How can I remove cDock completely and start over? Thanks
10.8 theme worked fine before...
But even when I uninstalled it and installed it again, I still see all the old custom themes(which means that there is still some files from the old cDock somewhere.) I want to uninstall cDock completely and start fresh.
I love this piece of software but I have two requests.
The first one is if it would be possible to stretch the dock the full width of my screen. At the moment there is still a small piece of my desktop background visible on both sides.
My second request is if it would be possible, when using two monitors, to have the dock on both monitors instead of on only one. Like mirroring the dock.
Keep up the great work :)
Do you accept pull requests?
The cDock2 page makes no mention of using mySIMBL (which w0lfschild is now developing).
I'm wondering why cDock2 doesn't install mySIMBL since SIMBL hasn't been updated in 5½ years and EasySIMBL reportedly doesn't work properly on OS X 10.9+.
I don't know which version has been included in the cDock updates, but it's been working fine for me on OS X 10.11.6.
mySIMBL is a successor to the application EasySIMBL. This application uses my own version of SIMBL since both EasySIMBL and the original SIMBL no longer work properly on macOS 10.9 and above due to changes made by Apple. Since both projects seem to have been abandoned or left unsupported I have created mySIMBL. It is designed to make finding, updating and installing SIMBL plugins easier than ever.
Hello,
Can you please explain how to create new themes in cDock2.I've tried adding curve files to a duplicate of the £D dock theme but all I get is a transparent dock.I would ideally like to make the 3D dock shelf larger -as it was in Snow Leopard and move the icons further up the dock as they were in Snow Leopard.
Regards.
I'm not sure if this is some interaction from cDock or SIMBL but suddenly my Printer Que app and even the Archive Utility app no longer auto-quit when they are finished.
Sorry if this is irrelevant but I don't know how to get in touch with the owner directly.
