vzbot-vz235's Issues

Hole misalignment Foot and bottom panel

The distance from the center M5-M6 foot hole to the side M4 holes are not symmetric.

One is 32.5 mm, the other is 32.56 mm.

It's a very slight misalignment but one that was probably missed because the feet were mirrored.

Hence 2 feet fit perfectly but the other would be slightly misaligned.

Shoulder bolt replacement

I'm building the AWD version of 235. The rear motor holders use shoulder bolts for the timing belt guidance hardware. Those bolts are kinda PITA. The gantry uses just regular screws for mounting the same kind of hardware. Maybe the shoulder bolts could be replaced with M5 bolts. That would be much easier to source and would require only a small modification to the printed parts.

Request: 10 mm belt size

Hi, is there a AWD "QuadXY" version but for a 10mm belt? I already have my setup with 10 mm belts and pulleys and really dont want to switch to the smaller 6 mm belt size ... thanks.

Enclosure Panel DXF and hole sizes

I just sent out my enclosure panels to get fabricated and noticed that I could not find any pre-generated DXF files for the panels.
It would be nice to have those files to help people that don't have access to F360 or other CAD programs.

I suggest the DXF files should also have their own folder to make them easy to find. A readme with recommended materials and thicknesses for the panels would be good also.

As far as the panels themselves, it would good for the simple panels to only use 1 drill size for consistency. This will make it easier for those who wish to cut and drill their panels by hand. I suggest 3.2mm as the size. Here is why: in the US and Canada 0.125 inch is smallest router bit many shops will have. This will make it easier for to get sourced and tolerances on panels are not critical.

Shoulder bolt standard

I had a problem with shoulder bolt. I was trying to order them locally but I was struggling a lot. They have a very specific name here. But there is a norm that they correspond to it is ISO 7379. When searching for this I was able to source it quite fast. It might be beneficial for others to also include those standards where possible.

Btw I think that the M4 variant is actually no in the norm. Somebody said that the norm is only from M5 but manufacturers somehow extrapolated the M4 variant too.

CAD Model full CNC

I can not find a downloadable CAD Model of the CNC Version.

Is this on purpose?

I am an trainee machinist and it would be really great if i could machine the parts by myself.

Anyways thanks a lot for the whole effor you guys a putting in to the community.

Request to update the STL Folder to "voron style"

What is meant by that is to reorganize the way stl are stored and named.

The voron team uses following convention for stl file naming

  • A number at the end of each file name for indicating how often the part must be printed (no number = print it once).
  • The [A] tag at the beginning of a file name means that this is an accent part
  • All parts are already oriented for the best printing position

If we could get that implemented it would make printig parts much easier and more organized.

I know it's propably a lot of work. Specially to determine what printing position is the "best" but I think in the long run the vzbot community will really profit from that.
