HMR does not work when re-exporting a component about vite-plugin-react HOT 2 CLOSED

I found three workarounds for this particular case:

1. implement empty function Appreexport

function Appreexport() {}

2. use acceptExports

if (import.meta.hot) {
  import.meta.hot.acceptExports["default"]
}

3. use accept

if (import.meta.hot) {
  import.meta.hot.accept()
}

But, in my opinion, HMR should work by default.

Looks like ReactFreshBabelPlugin does not find any component-like identifier inside Appreexport.tsx so HMR does not work

from vite-plugin-react.

Yeah that's expected: HMR only works for files with components, not for others files. There is no official doc for that, but you can read more about Fast Refresh in the Gatsby docs
In case of files that are only imported by components, HMR will works.
Here the re-export is used at the top level, so that's like updating top level file: it triggers full page reload.
