metaltap's Issues

CNC Tap rigidity

image

The issue I am seeing with the Vitalii CNC tap is a common issue around different CNC TAPS. This issue is a lack of rigidity in relation to rotational movement Rx, and Ry. This rotational movement shows up as a Z movement in the toolhead. As stated in the picture plastic tap takes care of this issue with the two screws through the Linear rail attached tap side. Vitalii tap may be able to take care of this movement by created two ribs in the x-direction on the the tap linear rail side which extend vertially along the toolhead mounting side.

GPL issue? No CAD?

Hey!

I am reaching out regarding the Voron-TAP project and its derivative work in your repository.

As Voron-TAP is released under the GPL (GNU General Public License), it is necessary to publish modifications. However, I could not find the CAD files in your repository. Would you please clarify this matter?

Thanks

Not an issue but not sure how to contact you...

(Sorry, I'm not very good with github...)

I modified your Wired Optical Sensor Mount.stl to support these sensors. I put it on Printables (with the f3d file) here.

You can add it to your repo if you'd like, you can tell me to take it down, whatever. Just wanted to let you know.

And also want to let you know that I really like your TAP - I've bought two of them and they're working much better than my plastic ones ever did.

Printed Part Insert Size?

Hello, I printed the following parts but the holes where the threaded inserts go in appear to be too small.

Opto Tap Adapter.stl
Carriege Front Magnet Holder.stl
Carriege Center Magnet Holder.stl

Is it supposed to be something other than an M3 threaded inserts?

Carriage front magnet holders

Hi, the voron tap R8 errata suggests that it's possible to use magnets on the carriage front as well as on the carriage center. It looks like magnets won't fit in the printed screw holders in this design. Would it be possible to add a version that can hold magnets? Or have you tested this and found that it doesn't work for some reason?

Thanks!
