The Ultimate Road Trip Planner is an app where the user enters in a starting location and ending location to plan a road trip. The app makes suggestions for points of interest like Hotels/Motels and restaurants. It will also provide weather forecasts for key cities along the route to enhance the road trip plan. The app uses Geonames, Google maps, Dark Skies to plan the route and provide the key information. http://ulti-road-trip-planner.herokuapp.com/

• Starting the trip: Enter Starting and Ending point. See the map route and destination weather.

• Pick a way point and see the weather forecast, pick a restaurant or hotel in the area:

  • Click on the map to see nearby locations.
  • Click on the thermometer to see the weather.
  • Click on the knife and fork icon to see restaurants.
  • View restaurants in the area.
  • Select one to add to your route.
  • 
  • Click on the bed icon to see hotels
  • View hotels in the area.
  • Select a hotel to add to your route.
  • See the full route with restaurant and hotel added.

• Take Directions With You!

  • Click on the "Take Directions With You!" button.
  • You will get a URL that you can save for later use.
