Our current setup for running benchmarks doesn't have a Gigabit network, which makes it less appropriate for testing an application which makes use of the XDP framework. To solve this problem, we'll try running benchmarks in a virtualized environment which should be able to create a faster network.

Implement two versions of a program which performs DDoS mitigation using http user agents. One version in BPF and the other in Lua.

Implement hooks inside the XDP structure to call Lua

Implement version of XDPLua that enables the execution of a Lua script inside the XDP environment using a BPF helper

Implement an authoritative dns server in Lua to act inside the XDP environment.

Provide synchronization locks between concurrent calls that would alter the same Lua state

When a user attempts to load a Lua script in one Lua state, while another script is being executed in the same state, a kernel panic occurs

As of today, Lunatik and Luadata are in the net/core directory, which is not the correct place for them to be. We must move them to a different directory, such as the lib directory.

Compare throughput difference between executing a Lua script using the XDPLua helper version Vs running the script as an eBPF program inside the XDP environment.

Continue writing document which describes the advantages and disadvantages of using Lua for packet filtering in the XDP environment Vs using eBPF.
