Mock Server

A simple mock server that responds to dynamic routes with templated responses.

Requirements

  • Node.js (> 0.10)
  • MongoDB (2.6+)
  • Bower

Running the project

  1. Clone the project
  2. Run npm install
  3. Run bower install
  4. Start the server in production mode NODE_ENV=production node server.js

Running the project in development mode

  1. Repeat steps 1-3 above
  2. Run grunt dev

Building the project

  1. Clone the project
  2. Run grunt build

Running the tests

Just run:

$ npm test

  • switch to lodash template engine
  • switch to MongoDB
  • improve log saving
  • switch UI from bootstrap to angular material
  • add backend api tests
  • add unit/e2e tests
  • add ability to delete a single log entry
  • add support for server side logs sorting
  • add help dialogs
  • register routes on express instead of matching the path in the database
  • add search boxes
  • add response headers to log

Bug fixes

  • paths can't be more than 2 levels deep at the moment
  • the unique key for mocks should be PATH,METHOD and not just PATH
