It's not only because it's my extension ^^. Colorize does a pretty good job when it comes to highlight colors and it also a "popular" extension ๐.
Here's the link https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=kamikillerto.vscode-colorize
Hello, I wrote a tool that can validate README links. It can be run when someone submits a pull request or pushes a commit.
For example, you would see that
https://github.com/sindresorhus/ava redirects to
https://github.com/avajs/ava
.. which may not be that interesting, but if a link gets broken, you would be alerted too.
This tool is currently being used by

If you are interested, connect this repo to https://travis-ci.org/ and add a .travis.yml
file to the project (you can also use Circle CI or other CI services).

Hello
first thanks for your work
I saw this in one of yours images how i do this
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/formulahendry/vscode-auto-rename-tag/master/images/usage.gif
In the README.md on line 1109 the gif for the uncategorised extension "Text Marker" is duplicated in "ESDOC"

Here is the link to the project: https://unibeautify.com/
Because it is very universal I would recommend put it on the top.
I am thinking of creating a section for people to follow on social media including VS Code devs from Microsoft as well as extension devs and other people who are part of the VS Code community and frequently promote the editor & community
Add more information about Salsa engine
Currently recommends some obscure 100k-downloads fan-created Rust extension.
There is a 400k downloads official (rust-lang group) extension here: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=rust-lang.rust
The logo at the top should be updated as VSCode updated its a while ago.
I added note on React JSX in Syntax section. If anybody have suggestions on how to make it looking better - you're welcome.
I think gi
in your list hasn't updated in a while and .gitignore generator
is on the market now. It supports multiple languages/options which gi
doesn't (the developer of gi
said he's waiting for vscode to update api but I think that's a long time ago and api shouldn't be a problem now). Can you consider adding .gitignore generator
?
SmoothType is deprecated and editor.cursorSmoothCaretAnimation
in VSCode should be used instead. Only additional option is to change animation duration
Typescript Hero is no longer being maintained (3 years ago) and archived.
Howdy ๐ from Coder!
Today we are open-sourcing https://github.com/coder/code-marketplace which provides an easier way to self-host your own marketplace. See https://coder.com/blog/running-a-private-vs-code-extension-marketplace for more specifics.
question: do you want a pull-request with this information added to the README? If so, under which section.
I use Octobox to keep track of my notifications from Github and I think it would be useful to add their Github plugin to this repo. It adds tags & colors to issue / PR statuses.
This is currently how it looks for this repo looks on Octobox:
We need a plug-in that manages vscode plug-ins, because as plug-ins grow, we need to improve the organization of plug-ins, such as packages, modules, and so on
Should replace the preferred extension for CMake to one that is updated and supported
CMake - CMake langage support for Visual Studio Code
by twxs was last updated in 2017
CMake Tools - Extended CMake support in Visual Studio Code is updated by Microsoft
Some languages are already providing linters, probably we could merge them - I'm also thinking about table format in that section
The currently recommended Rust plugin https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=rust-lang.rust has been depreciated.
Switch the recommended Rust plugin to the new official Rust-Analyzer https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=rust-lang.rust-analyzer
Please consider adding vscode-ccls to the list of VS Code C/C++/Objective-C extensions.
ccls is a is a C/C++/Objective-C language server originating from cquery.
vscode-ccls is the VS Code extension which provides ccls services.
vscode-ccls seems to be the only working extension which provides C/C++ refactoring.
The new logo is blue again now, so shouldn't it be blue as well?
I've build an extension to use the XO linter from @sindresorhus. Would you be willing to accept a PR to add it to the list or not?
Following link gives a 404: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Leopotam.csharpfixformat
As you've also added the Project Manager extension to this list, I think my VSCode Project Dashboard extension would be a nice fit too! ๐
It's a speed-dial like project dashboard for VSCode, which lets you organize your projects on a simple and intuitive frontpage directly in VSCode.

https://github.com/Kruemelkatze/vscode-dashboard
Edit: Just found the section on how to contribute. Will do a PR. :)
It'd be nice to have a section in the README for Ruby.
Some notable extensions:
https://github.com/viatsko/awesome-vscode#debugger-for-chrome-1 is a duplicate of https://github.com/viatsko/awesome-vscode#debugger-for-chrome
https://github.com/viatsko/awesome-vscode#facebook-flow isn't in the index and it should be formatted like title like Javascript or other chapters
https://github.com/viatsko/awesome-vscode#typescript should be formatted as title like others
Hi, some extensions that I use frequently and I would like to suggest
Hi,
This is not a bug but its a suggestion. You can share your customized code settings including extensions with users and users can download those settings, anytime you change the settings. Users code environment will be updated in terms of extensions and settings.
Try with Code "Settings Sync" extension
Share the settings with giving customized Gist of extensions for designers , developers etc.

I just recently stumbled upon this repo while looking through some Tweets and was first interested in the Deploy extension. After installing it, I'm greeted with a notification that I should instead check out their newly coded version, Deploy Reloaded. Should the links to the original extension be updated to their new one or do y'all intend to leave it as is?
I'd be happy to make the necessary changes, I just don't wish to do them if there's no desire to update the link. I could also just add the reloaded extension after the original so visitors to the repo can decide which version they'd like to use.
The Browser Preview
extension is deprecated in favor of Live Preview
.
Here are some suggestions:
Browser Preview
to the Productivity
list section (similar to where Live Server is)Browser Preview
to the Productivity
description and demo section(deprecated)
Live Preview
as an alternativeStable VS Code just release with a new icon, see microsoft/vscode#6607 (comment)
Would be great to change the icon in this repository as well (probably adding awesome glasses too?)
Due to the large number of images and the general large size of the README file, clicking links in the Table of Contents does not always navigate cleanly. Simply turning on GitHub Pages on the master branch and applying a theme would make this list more stable and readable.
Are you in for creating a section regarding libraries for VS Code extensions?
For example, I created a vscode-set-text extension that makes it easier to set text in a TextEditor
. Related to atom-set-text.
Might be interesting for extension developers.
There may be paid VS Code extensions or content that could be beneficial to list here. Currently there is no direct notice in the contributing guide that submissions should only be publicly available / free resources, so I think at least it would be good to update the guide with our stance on it.
I do think pushing free resources first should be a priority, but if there is a paid resource that could bring benefits to the greater VS Code community by putting it in the list, it could at least be discussed if it should be added between the repo maintainers and if accepted be extremely blatant in the list that it is a commercial resource.
What does everyone else think about this?
TODO. Referencing #320 and prob Microsoft's own tool?
It looks like there is no 'Migrating from Vim' section. (and hence no anchor link)
Miles McBain has written a very nice blog post on how to work with R in VSCode.
It covers linting and much, much more.
Is there any reason why the Vim Extension is not together with the other keymaps packs?
