splunk-app-action's Issues

Option to run commands before generating build

Option to run commands before generating build

  • Example - to remove some files from being added to build
  • Make sure to allow the dynamic number of commands to run.

Also, Make sure .git directory is not part of the build (if building the app from the repo's root directory)

Write proper readme file to show-case all use-cases

Write proper readme file to show-case all use-cases and examples on how to use this GitHub action

  • also write information about all options and how to use them
  • mention where to find app builds for further actions
  • mention where to find the app-inspect report
  • how to use if there is multiple app (or app and add-on) in the same repo
  • how to run your workflow manually - example with GitHub doc link

Add automated test-cases execution for all the test -scenarios for different inputs

Add automated test-cases execution for all the test -scenarios for different inputs
like - user-defined commands execution and other scenarios

  • Add sample apps in some directory
  • App-inspect failure should fail the workflow (in test it should be like a failure should pass the test case and pass should fail the test case)
  • Add test case for command execution before running the workflow action.
  • Add test case for the valid successfully passing app, build, and app-inspect checks.
  • Add test-case for the repo root directory (app_dir=.) case (Check and if possible use cd before executing the main workflow to see if this is going to replicate the scenario correctly or not)
  • Test scenario where app_package_id is not provided in the app.conf
  • Test scenario where app_package_id is not there in app.conf also not provided as parameter
