opensubtitles-uploader's Issues

'open with'

This should be possible without too much trouble, just pass the argv as it if were dropped

remove 'chmod' cmd from interface.js

chmod lines (l.303) in interface.js can't be used from within the app (apparently). They need to be removed, and the += from second line turned into a =.

For linux, it's confirmed. I need to find if that is a problem for OSX as well.

Inform the user that subtitles are being uploaded

As I said here : http://blog.opensubtitles.eu/opensubtitlesorg/web/opensubtitles-uploader#comment-131774

When the website is not reachable (or takes time to respond), uploading a subtitle can take some time. Thus, when you click on the "send" button, nothing happen. You have to wait in order to see the "retry" option or the "successful" message.

I suggest to modify the UI in order to inform the user that the subtitle is being transferred, and to block any interaction. I'll be happy to provide a PR in necessary (even if I'm not familiar with NodeJS).

Something is not working correctly

I try to upload a subtitle for a movie but I get the message "Quelque chose a mal fonctionné :("

Where can I go to get a stackTrace of the error? I can provide the file and the subtitle if you want to reproduce.

Switch to nw14

Easy enough. Theorically there isn't even any change to make to the code

UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE

Hi

opensubtitles.org is using to https, now uploader is reporting UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE, unable to verify the first certificate

when uploading subtitles.

Please look at it, thanks

Uploading ass subtitles

Hi,
I'm constantly having troubles uploading some ass subtitles, and i thing it's because they are above 100 kb.

Specially the anime's ass are to elaborate and there for even on a 20 something minutes of a episode the get very large files (i don't think they are that large but!).

What can i do so we can solve some of this problems?
Where can a sent those files for your to be able to see what the problem and what should be done the resolve them?

Thanks in advanced.

wrong release name

Sadly release name doesn't seem to be compatible with autoextraction, movie_name & title sometimes aren't release name, but ads

Enhance language detection

automate the language detection when a subtitle is dropped would prevent the user clicking on "auto-detect". Even though OS has its own lang detection, it would help that we send the lang directly.

Also, display an error if the lang can't be found.

FPS field; erasing fields on network failure

Dear sir,

There are 2 issues I have encountered so far:

  1. In case of subtitle upload only, without any video file, FPS field does not receive value, but does not allow for manual input of frame rate either. Therefore, uploaded subtitles lack that info.
  2. In case the site 'opensubtitles.org' is unreachable for any reason, dialog pops-up with 'Retry'/'OK' buttons. 'Retry' just retries and sooner or later one has to press 'OK'. After pressing OK all data in the window are deleted! A sort of save option would be nice instead.

Wish you many good prog-lines :)
Alex

Loading gear keeps spinning after loading video

When a video is loaded into the app the loading gear keeps spinning even after successfully uploading the subtitle, another video and sub can be loaded afterwards but the gear remains there.

Weird characters for greek subs

I have a problem. I try to upload Greek subs for a movie but the OpenSubs uploader "read" them as Arabic.
And on the opensubs.com site appear with weird characters. Why is that? Please help me.

opensubtitles-uploader does not upload video and subtitle files

I uploaded the video file, then the subtitle file. When I hit the "upload" button, I got an error ("something went wrong :(" ) and was asked if I would like to try again. I clicked "yes" but I still go the error message. My video was a 22-minute .mp4 file and my subtitles were a .srt file.

Video file is not available online after using Opensubtitles uploader (???)

Hi,
In normal case the Opensubtitles uploader work just fine.
But sometimes during the same upload proces there are some video files i just can't upload.
It says: "We already have this video file in database. The hash too... The movie file too..."
So this video file isn't available online by using program like BS player. But the same video file is available
for other subtitles, just my subtitle isn't among the other subtitles for this video file.
Here's the name of the video file: [TorrentCounter.to].Avengers.Infinity.War.2018.New.HD-TS.x264
And here's the link to my subtitle that suits the video file:
https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/7357088/avengers-infinity-war-hr
I have tried like 20 times to upload the video file using Opensubtitles uploader version 2.3.0, and version
2.2.0 and 2.1.0 but nothing no result. I contact administration, they say it takes time for upload and i
should be patient. But it takes like 6 to 10 hours at most for the video file to be uploaded, often even immediately.
Someone please help.

Add support for scanning and uploading multiple subtitles at once.

This would make it a lot easier and faster to upload subtitles for entire tv show for example.

In my mind it would be a list where you can drop video or subtitle files, and it would automatically start scanning them (add a checkbox for that maybe?).
The current main screen would be used/shown after double clicking on an item in that list.

fps

better error handling

  • Don't reset on error notification
  • body: Error 503 Backend fetch failed, Backend fetch failed, Guru Meditation:, Varnish cache server == retry in a little while, it's not unknown error
  • handle maintenance error

Localize the application

Try to come up with some localization/internationalization for the app to be translated in multiple langs.

The app will then require some options (or a simple dropdown for lang somewhere)

use transifex

might be a good idea, translations are hard to manage manually

How does the Auto detect the Language work

When I add a video file and subtitles the Auto detect the Language never works.
My files are called:

Lethal Weapon - S01E01 - Pilot (1080p.BluRay.rovers).en.srt
Lethal Weapon - S01E01 - Pilot (1080p.BluRay.rovers).mkv

Uploader doesn't accept subtitles from opensubtitles.org

From time to time I adjust subtitles from opensubtitles.org to the video file I have. Then I usually upload it to opensubtitles. The file uploaded is the original subtitles file, but adjusted to concrete video using Gaupol transform function.

I tried your application but it refuses to upload such file, claiming that is "has wrong format and may contain competitive URL-s" - my free translation of polish UI message :)

The subtitles file and the screen are attached.
