wavemesh's Issues

Instantly runs out of memory -- memory leak

Hi, thanks for putting this code up!
I've managed to compile it, but I'm instantly running out of memory. I'm loading a ~0.2 mb .off file, exported out of meshlab, with the -c flag and the -d 1 argument [EDIT: fails regardless of the -d argument]. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04. I've custom-compiled VTK 5.2 for this. The machine has 32 GB of RAM, so there must be some kind of memory leak. Any suggestions?

I need some clarifications please

hello Sir,
I am new with progressive compression of 3D meshes and I am trying to understand that throught your project because it combines discret wavelets transform, quatization and zerotree coding. I have learned is far from enough for mesh compression. So, I found some ambiguities and i am asking you to help me to understand, please!

  1. could you tell me where is the progressive character in your work?
  2. can I fixe the compression ratio before applying the compression on a 3D object? (I mean fixe the number of faces or vertex that I want to obtain after compression)
  3. I tried to execute the project, when I fixe the option -d 2, then I press e key, the mesh displayed is it the one compressed? or it is the mesh just after applying the wavelet transform?
  4. what is the Bounding box?
  5. out.ddd is it a binary file?
  6. where are levels of details are stored?
    Thanks a lot

filters declaration

Hello sir,
could you tell me where both filters of analysis and synthesis were declared in your code, please

VTK version 5

Hello, I could not find vtk version 5. what should I do to run your project

Segfault immediately on executing wavemesh executable

I am using VTK 5.10.1+dfsg-2.1build1 on a 64 bit Ubuntu system. However, on running wavemesh with the "c" parameter and a .off file exported from Blender, I get a segfault in in vtkPolyData::GetCellPoints(long long, long long&, long long*&) () from /usr/lib/libvtkFiltering.so.5.10

Is there any particular version of libvtk expected from WaveMesh to run correctly?
