freud's Issues

Freud-statistics doesn't create the necessary folders

When running freud-statistics, one must manually create the ann, eps, and plots folders. Otherwise, errors are produced.

Steps to reproduce:

  • make sure to delete the aforementioned folders
  • run e.g. ./freud-statistics 3 0 0 do_stuff [some folder]/symbols/function/

Actual output:
INFO: Reading data from [some folder]/symbols/function/...
ERR: Could not open outfile ann/do_stuff.txt

Expected output:
INFO: Reading data from [some folder]/symbols/function/...
INFO: Creating Performance Annotation (0) for do_stuff

INFO: Regressions found: 1

Running test.sh produces Segmentation fault

I followed the instruction to compile different components and install both pin, r packages, and libelfin. But the generated pin tool gives a segmentation fault error:

./test.sh: line 27: 7818 Segmentation fault ../pin/pin -t obj-intel64/freud-pin.so -- ../micro_benchmark/micro_benchmark --test_instrumentation &>> test_log

I am using GCC 9.4.0, Ubuntu 20.04.1, and pin 3.26. Is there any assumption about the version of these tools?
