Disconnect about 2 minutes later from connection estabilishment on Master(AP) mode by hostapd

I connected ipTime A3000UA to my sandbox machine by using this driver source code, I tried to test to connect hostapd-running machine and my mobile phone in number of times. A3000UA is using USB 3.0 protocol to connect to machine and rtl8812bu chipset is adopted into this device.

I found that connection is usually broken (2 minutes later in average) after connection has established between my phone and machine. to solve this problem, I found a solution that setting 3 options' value, USB switch mode, ldpccap and stbccap in Windows' driver setting.

USB switch mode looks like protocol version of usb, it provides None(auto?), 1, 2 and 3, so, switch mode should be set as 3 for this device. I found similar option 'rtw_enusbss::int' from modinfo list.
I exactly do not know what ldpccap and stbccap do meaning, and i would like to know where similar setting value is. if not being in driver code, could you add option?

Unable to cross-compile for ARM arch

I'm trying to cross-compile this driver for ARM arch but modules aren't building.

Hello & thank you for providing this. I'm not sure I did this right but what I did seems to have resolved half my current issues.

  1. I found and edited the Makerfile in the Module folder.
  2. I rebooted.

Thing is, at least when using Lazy Script, it's unable to start monitor mode. Still says "wlan0mon: ERROR while getting interface flags; no such device." What seems to be working, now, is the scan feature in Lazy Script which I'd also been struggling with, before. Although, that could have resolved through one of a multitude of other things that I've tried.

Any advice?

I would like to inform you that on Edimax's website, they have released a new version of their driver package from 2018-07-23. Whenever you have time, hopefully you should be able to find try and rebase your current driver code off that package. Not sure if it will help with the USB 3 modeswitch issues.

Hostpot

Hello, i successful installed two TPLINK T4U AC 1300, in two different computers. I created a hostpot in one computer and the other is connected to it. My problem is that when i test the speed using iperf3, the maximum value that i obtain is 13MB/S. I switch to different channels, different bands (2.4 GHz and 5GHz), but changes were worst, i have never got more than 13MB/S. Please, i need some help to solving this. Thank you very much.

Bandwidth Slower than iMac

I have tried this driver with a Linksys WUSB6400M USB WiFi adapter on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and it works.

Unfortunately, I have to do some of the instructions after each boot but I will add something on start-up so this shouldn't be a big deal.

The speed I had was about 50-60Mbps (according to speedtest.net/run) but I have an iMac next to me that can clock up to 100Mbps and I was wondering if the driver is only operating on 2.4Ghz and the iMac on 5Ghz, if it is related to 802.11ac, or maybe the USB3 issue.

I even put the case of the PC in the exact same place the iMac was in but still got the same results.

I will try to use the adapter on the iMac later and see if I get different results:sweat_smile:.

And as an aside why there doesn't seem to be an official Linux driver for this? I understand that Linux can have some issues with some new hardware but this adapter has been out for more than two years and the RTL8822BU had to have been out for even more (if I understand time correctly):sweat_smile:.

I also noticed that some people talk about its stopping to work after some kernel version (4.14 I think).

And finally, why doesn't this project try to get this working on the Linux kernel? It can take a lot of work, of course but even if it's 10x the work it will be more than 100x the benefit:smiley:.

Brief 3-4 ms pauses in operations

I'm running into some weird pauses that don't look like network congestion. If I start transmitting at say MCS0, sending 1,500 byte packets, a new packet is sent roughly once per millisecond. This is all good and fine, but every slightly-more-than 100ms, there is a pause. The pause is typically 3-4ms, and I can't seem to figure out why. Has anyone else seen unusual behavior like this?

Additionally, I am running into another odd case. Though I've re-enumerated my RTL8812BU (or not sure if it's an RTL8822BU) (0bda:b812) it seems to top out max TX at around 100 mbit/s, even when transmitting on even the most absurd VHT rates.
